8/19/20

Physical: 5-foot-10, 167 pounds; long, wiry frame that could be added to . 7.9 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Slightly open lower half with high hands and a relaxed bat on his shoulder; leg lift into a long stride back neutral, hands travel backwards while his body moves forward creating "rubber band" tension. Active lower half, clearing hips well and unleashing built up energy effectively with slightly barring out arm, works around the ball with a long swing. Struck the ball well to pull side, creating good lift and carry; peak Trackman exit velocity of 90 MPH.
Defensively: Bent over, low to the ground stance; slow, methodical steps gaining ground well laterally. confident in his hands, soft glove with a clean transfer to throw; long back swing, high 3/4 slot.    INF - 75 MPH.
Pitching: Gets into lower half well as he goes down the slope, also creating good hip-shoulder separation. Great scapular retraction at foot strike allowing him to whip his arm quickly;  3/4 slot with a long, whippy arm. FB: T 80MPH, 77-80 MPH. Spotted fastball well, it played down in the zone with a heavy feeling . CB: 64-67 MPH. Great breaking ball with very tall 12/6 action to it . SL: 70-72 MPH. CH:  Changeup was good when it was down. He got over top of it and was able to generate two plane movement (down and away movement).

Physical: Athletic build. 8.08 runner in the 60.

 Offensively: RHH. upright, slightly open stance with hands up in front; leg hang and stride gaining ground while hands load back. aggressive lower half staying behind the ball with direct to contact with a slight uphill finish.  Solid contact with a gap to gap approach; peak Trackman exit velocity of 86 MPH.

 Defensively: Uses prep step; athletic actions playing through the bal routinely. soft glove with a seamless transfer; ability to vary arm action with the play.  INF - 79 MPH.

 Pitching: Short drop step with a high knee lift and slight turn before striding in line to a repeatable release and balanced follow through. Long, loose arm action to a 3/4 slot. FB: T 79 MPH, 76-78 MPH. Has ride through the zone averaging 20 in of induced vertical mov.. CB: 63-64 MPH. slurve action with 10-4 shape and an avg. drop of 2 in and horizontal movement of 8 in.64-65 MPH. Good sell with straight change.

At the plate, Pappas has a quiet simple approach. The swing is consistent and balanced. Quick path to the hitting zone. Displayed hard consistent contact during batting practice. Defensively, Pappas worked out at SS. The infielder does a good job getting himself in a good position before fielding the baseball. Throws from a mid ¾ arm slot across the diamond. On the mound, the 2021 graduate displayed a repeatable delivery. Pappas works off a high knee lift and slight shoulder tilt before working downhill. Pappas displayed plus command with three pitch mix. The 2021 dual player is a must follow. 


9/21/19

Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in tall stance and feet shoulder width apart. Pappas stays balanced throughout the swing. Impressive round batting practice with hard consistent contact to the middle of the field. Diaplyed a flat bat path through the hitting zone. Defensively- the infielder moves well laterally. Low effort actions once he fields the baseball. Low effort throwing actions. Displayed an accurate arm on throws across the diamond. Pitching- the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery. Pappas was impressive in live game action by attacking the hitting zone with plus command of his FB. CB has a 11-5 sharp break, and feel for a CH down in the zone. 


6/25/19

Has a lean build at 5-foot-9,150 pounds. Offensively- The right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Uses a short stride towards the pitcher before entering the hitting zone. Displayed an inside out approach during the hitting portion. Making solid contact to the middle and opposite part of the field. Top exit velocity was 82 MPH. Defensively- As a SS, showed active footwork. Moves well laterally. Shows above average funnel actions. Fields the ball slightly off center. Has a quick release from a high ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity across the diamond was 77 MPH. Pitching- The RHP displayed a repeatable delivery. Works with a quick tempo. Gathers himself with no wasted movement on a balanced back side and works downhill. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Shows command of a FB that peaked at 75 MPH. CB has late break ranging from 61-64 MPH. The 2021 graduate is one to follow as he continues to develop.

A lean 5-foot-9, 145 pounds. Ran an 8.35 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- stands in the box with feet shoulder width apart. Short load and stride to the pitcher before attacking the baseball. Hands drop slightly before attacking the baseball. Displayed hard contact during the hitting portion. Top exit velocity was 76 MPH. Defensively- solid infield actions. Displayed soft hands and quick release on throws across the infield. Top throwing velocity was 71 MPH. Pitching- works mainly from the left side of the rubber. Showed a balanced repeatable delivery during the bullpen session. Plus command of his three pitch mix. FB peaked at 73 MPH, CB 59-60 MPH, and CH 67-68 MPH.
