Physical: Projectable, wiry 6-foot-3, 180lb frame with plenty of upside on the mound.
Pitching: RHP - Jumped on the mound and went immediately up-tempo from the start, great body control down the slope and creates efficient velocity on the ball, as the arm whips towards the glove from a loose, H ¾ slot. The FB landed at 90-91 mph (2498 rpms) with some downhill action to the bottom of the zone. Mixed a wipeout low 70’s CB on an 11/5 tilt, flashing two-plane shape and commanded a more lateral 75-77 mph SL on the horizontal axis (2500+ rpms). Feel to spin, then added a fading 80-81 mph CH back to the arm-side. Uncomfortable at-bat that shows when looking at his HS stats this spring.
3/21/21
Physical: Long, lean 6-foot-2, 165 lb build
Pitching: Works fast out of the gate with a quick side step, drives the knee up with a turn and drives down the mound in lione accelerating against a strong front side. Long, whippy arm action to a side 3/4 release.
FB: Has life through the zone with arm side run and flashed the ability to ride it through the top of the zone. CB: Tends to back up with big break and 11-5 shape. CH: Slows arm speed a bit on the straight change.
9/11/20
Physical: 6-foot-2, 165 pounds; long lower half, lean build. Pitching: Good tempo down the slope, strides out far creating exceptional extension. Long take away from the glove into a big swing, throws from a high 3/4 slot. FB: Peak velo of 83 MPH, while sitting 79-82 MPH. Established his FB well in the bottom of the zone while effectively throwing it up in the zone. CB: 63-65 MPH. Displayed a tall, falling CB with command. SL: 67-70 MPH. Flashed a hard, biting slider that had good glove side tilt. CH: 68-70 MPH. Showcased a CH that had good arm side fade, could be developed more.
8/02/20
Physical: Long and projectable 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame with room to fill out as he matures / features athleticism in the build, feel on the mound.
Pitching: RHP - Starts from the middle of the rubber, side rocker step with a medium leg lift showing slight hip coil at the top of the stack / above average pace in the delivery, directional drive while landing medium-high in the posture, high ¾ arm-slot with a full arm circle. FB ranged from 82-83 T84 mph with an upwards of 2288 spin per Trackman Baseball, commanded the zone and paired it with a quality 65-67 mph breaker with 11/5 shape / depth. Countered with a 70-71 mph SL thrown harder and flashing more horizontal plane, kept hitters off balance and matched up well with FB arm speed / deception out of the hand. Dropped in a 78-79 mph CH for strikes with occasional small arm-side fade.
7/06/20
Physical: 6-foot-2, 155 pounds; long, lanky frame, room for more weight. 7.72 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Wide, athletic stance with low hands; Uses a small leg lift/stride with hands in a powerful position at load. Average effort with quick hands to the ball working slightly uphill on finish. Sprays line drives to all fields; peak Trackman exit velocity of 90 MPH.
Defensively: Traditional 2-foot catcher, even base; Quick feet out of the crouch that gain ground on his throw to the bag. Smooth transfer, solid receiver; Quick arm swing out of a 3/4 arm slot. 1.91-1.97 pop times. C - 80 MPH.
Pitching: Quick, controlled windup, comes set at his shoulders and breaks hands at his hips, gets downhill on foot strike and falls off to the first base side. Long, whippy, high 3/4 arm action. FB: T 86MPH, 80-86 MPH. Fastball plays well up with some ride through the zone. Higher spin rate plus high IVB = FB up in the zone is tough to get on top of or hit at all.. CB: 65-67 MPH. Gets on top for 12-6 movement. CH: 72-73 MPH. Thrown out of FB window, late arm-side fade
2/14/20

Spread, even setup with an upright barrel angle. Controlled timing with aggressive lower half; flat path early into the zone Hard line drives to the pull side; middle of the field. Power: 86 MPH raw exit velocity. Consistent with the barrel, power yet to come. Defense: 1.99-2.03 pop times. Compact setup behind the dish with a clean exchange on the transfer while gaining ground to 2B. Arm: Throws hold carry with a more then suitable arm for his grad class. C - 74 MPH.
Pitching Delivery: Uptempo pace; gets over front side aggressively with extension out in front. Arm Action: Long and loose from a standard 3/4 slot. FB: T82, 80-82 MPH. Heavy sink and arm side run. CB: 64-66 MPH. 12-to-6 shape with early action; has potential to be a pitch with depth. Positional Profile: Showed well both behind the plate and on the mound. Short term may point to a higher projection as a RHP based on build and arm speed. Handles the bat well and the catching skills support a dual role right now.

2/11/18
Switch-hitting catcher checks in at 5-foot-5 and 110 pounds. He ran a 8.66 60 and 5.34 home-to-1B (left side). Offensively- From the right side Stewart uses and open setup with a slight float of the front foot during his stride. Stays behind the ball; relatively short swing path with line drive results. Exit velocity was 61 MPH. From the left; slightly open with knee-to-knee stride and an occasional toe-tap. Short stroke that would benefit from a more aggressive lower half; exit velocity was 60 MPH. Key from both sides is getting his front side down early enough to be in hitting postion.
