2/18/21
Physical: Long and lean, 6-foot-1, 145-pound frame with a high waist in the build. 7.11 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Started from a wide, slightly open setup as the hands began high above the head; utilized a leg lift stride in order to initiate the bat head through a slightly uphill, whippy path with adjustability present in the lower half of the swing, recorded a 78 mph peak bat-exit velocity while keeping the ball off of the ground (60% fly ball rate). Mostly pull-side approach wearing out the RCF gap during his batting practice round. More to come as he continues adding strength; liked to get extended on the pitches out over the plate.
Defensively: The primary outfielder stayed behind the ball well with trust in the glove hand playing off the right foot, funneled into the belt loop and released from a short, high ¾ slot. Good body movements and liked to use a crow hop (gather step) before letting it go with high intent (70 mph). Likely headed to a corner outfield position at the moment.
8/25/20
Physical: 6-foot-1, 140 pounds; long levers, lanky frame. 7.37 runner in the 60. Offensively: LHH. Slightly open front foot paired with high hands and an upright bat; uses a small barrel tip to initiate the load, jumps forward to the pitch. Jumps at the ball losing back leg load, does move hips well with in and out of the zone, turns the barrel quickly to get on plane. Hit the ball well back up the middle and the opposite way, also flashed some pull side ability; peak Trackman exit velocity of 78 MPH. Defensively: Tall set up with some bend at the midline; took advantageous steps to the ball, getting around it to be able to field on the glove side foot properly. Hands work through the ball into a big crow hop and throw; long, loose arm action out of a high 3/4 slot. OF - 73 MPH. Pitching: Small leg lift in the windup, travels down the mound but does not throw off a stiff front leg. Loose, whippy arm out of a 3/4 slot. Hides the ball well. FB: T 68 MPH, 65-68 MPH. Commanded the fastball well to either side of the plate. CB: 56-58 MPH. Curveball could be a valuable pitch the more it is thrown, quality movement. CH: 57-59 MPH. The changeup could also be a valuable pitch in the future, it is thrown with similar arm speed that gives it the deceptiveness.
