NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)
Athletic 6-foot-2, 189 pound right-hander who continues to show added velocity with a fastball at 82-83 MPH, have seen up to 85; effectively uses positive hip tilt at balance point, engagement of lower half combined with lengthy frame creates downward plane, commands secondary pitches with consistent motion, curveball shows late bite at 72-73 MPH. Recent commitment to Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Academic Games (June 3, 2017)
Athletic 6-foot-2, 189 pound RHP/3B who ran a 4.55 home-to-1B. Offensively - Short to the ball, athletic, good balance, consistently squares up the baseball with an exit velocity of 87 MPH. Explodes through the ball middle in. Needs to create counter-rotation between upper torso and lower half to generate consistent power. Defensively - Clean, loose throwing action from the left side of the infield with a velocity of 80 MPH, soft hands. Adequate option at the hot corner. Pitching- Added velocity to his fastball at 81-85 MPH (up 2 MPH from February); generates power with positive hip tilt at balance point, demonstrates use of lower half and frame to create downward plane, effective secondary pitches from consistent release point, curveball shows late bite at 72-73 MPH.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)
Seburn has a long, athletic frame at 6-foot-2 185 pounds. The 3B/RHP ran an impressive 6.93 60. Offensively- Feet are even, just outside the shoulders with hand position even with the back shoulder and an up-down bat angle. Quiet and controlled take back with a slight stride forward; aggressive lower half with some whip like actions into the zone. Two handed finish with pronounced weight transfer; exit velocity peaked at 85 MPH. Pull side to gap power potential. Defensively- Upright setup moves laterally with long strides; left side hangs back as hands get in front creating a heel-to-heel shuffle. Arm strength is sufficient for the left side at 79 MPH. Foot speed and body type may point to corner outfield projection down the road. Pitching- Sets up middle rubber with short drop step to a mid-chest balance point. Lands open with front foot but gets over front side with a full fledged follow through. Arm action is long with little restriction, working through a high 3/4 slot. Late acceleration with some jump to his FB at 81-83 MPH. 12-to-6 action on breaking ball with some late bite at 71-73 MPH. Maintains arm speed and sells his change up at 76-77 MPH. Projects well on the mound with a frame and delivery that will support additional velocity gains.
