Spring 2019

*Comitted to Akron from Lackawanna College.
New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Granger stands 6-foot-1, 175-pounds with a very athletic build, above average athleticism evidenced by his 7.10 laser 60-laser time. Has been as low as 6.90 in the past. Offensively- Simple approach with his hands shoulder high. On the pitch he uses a smooth load, leg lift and stride, gaining ground towards the pitcher. Hands stay back and power quickly to the ball from a slight inclined bat-path. Above average bat-speed (93 mph; personal best) with pull-side power. Defensively- covers ground with little effort, stays behind the ball and gets through his throws from a high-3/4 slot. Arm strength well above average at 88 mph (+3 MPH from past events) with carry to the bag. High-end athlete, interesting prospect that has shown he can play, at times, at the elite level.
New York Games (July 7-9, 2015)
Stands at 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, with a lean athletic body build.  Defensively- He has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft hands, throws with a high 3/4 arm slot, plays through the ball nicely and has accuracy on the target.  Offensively- At the plate his setup is open stance, short stride, with a nice back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane, and has high finish with nice extension through the ball.

Top Prospect Games (August 16, 2014)
Granger stands 6-foot-0 160-pounds with an athletic build. Pitching- On the mound he throws from a high ¾ slot generating an 80-82 mph arm side run fastball. He throws a 69 mph curveball that has a small hump early, he needs to get on top of that pitch more and out in front on the release to get the hard late bite. He is very projectable because of this athleticism and quick hand speed (85 MPH from OF). He needs to continue to develop and work on getting more extension on his pitches and finish. Defensively- He stays behind the ball well, maybe charges the ball a little out of control, but fields to his glove side, lines his shoulders up will with his target and throws with a long arm action, form a high ¾ slot with plenty of carry and zip (85 mph). He is only going to get bigger and stronger as he matures and grows. Offensively- At the plate he starts wide and tall, uses a back load for timing, and drives his hands at the ball. His swing is long but provides power with an 86 mph exit velocity, extension after contact with a high recoiled finish.

Northwest NY Prospect Games (July 1, 2014)

Granger stands 6-foot-0 160-pounds and has the frame of a next level guy. Pitching- He throws from a mid/High 3/4 slot with a fastball sitting 80-82 mph. His curveball has 11/5 shape at 63-65 mph. Mechanically his tempo is good and gets out in front nicely, his back arm action is longer at times. Offensively- His setup is tall and he uses a leg lift and strides on contact. His bat travels flat through the zone and finishes on an incline. His exit velocity was 85 mph showing signs of power potential. Defensively- In the OF he stays behind the ball well and uses a small crow hop to help generate power. His release needs to be faster and his arm action is long.
