8/12/18
Left-handed hitter that starts in an athletic stance. Loading sequence is full of athlete movements that sync well prior to launch. Smooth swinger with a path that has some loft. Both strength and speed grade out as above average tools through the zone. Talented bat that should garner scholarship contention. Corner type in the outfield. Good athlete out there. Gets to and through the baseball in a timely fashion. Ball skills are solid and arm is accurate.
Outfield Velocity: 75
Exit Velocity: 83
H-1st: 4.41

6/5/18
Rakestraw’s top tool is his bat. A lefty swinger with physicality at the plate. Can show raw power to pull side but more of a gap threat presently. Takes an aggressive BP and swing shows up in game. Middle of the lineup type guy at the next level. Defensively, he has a corner type skill set in the outfield. Has feel out there and reacts well off the bat. Could see him at right or left down the road. A fringy type prospect level wise but scholarship level abilities.
60-yard dash: 6.97
Outfield Velocity: 78
Exit Velocity: 90

1/30/18

The lefty was as impressive as it gets in BP. Pre-launch movements create energy without sacrificing rhythm. Finds plane well and accelerates through contact with ease. Backspun balls to both gaps with authority. Hit tools ranks amongst the best when it comes to uncommitted guys in his class. In the outfield he is mechanically sound with confident, athletic actions. Gets to and through quickly, maintaining momentum through fielding sequence. Arm plays in all three spots. Solid defender.

Outfield Velocity: 82

Exit Velocity: 85

7/12/17
In the outfield, his feet work very quick. Approaches the ball with a strong sense of urgency. Fields the ball outside the frame of his body on his glove side foot. Fires from a shorter 3/4 arm angle with developing arm speed. A left-handed hitter that start in a taller setup. Gets things going through a high leg kick load. Hands move back to a strong launch position at release. Swing is compact and barrel works on a slightly uphill path. A strong kid with well above average bat speed. Looks to fit best in a run producer role, showing present gap pop with power to come.
60-yard dash: 7.18
Outfield Velocity: 76
Exit Velocity: 89

2/1/17
A lefty swinger that uses a leg kick to get things started. Hands move to launch prior taking a level path to the ball. Swing is efficient and aggressive. Impressive bat speed and strength. Ball jumped off his bat when he found the barrel. Showed gap to gap pop with flashes of power potential to come. Footwork is quick in the outfield. Gets to the ball in a timely fashion. Fields through the baseball aggressively. Could get more use out of his crow hop to finish his throws.

Outfield Velocity: 75
Exit Velocity: 85

7/6/16
6-foot-2, 170-pound athletic, projectable body frame. Left-handed hitter starts from and open stance using a knee high leg kick, striding back to being squared up to even before he swings. Hands start high and then drop down to shoulder height. Swings with a level bat path through the zone, while showing the ability to use both sides of the field. Recorded a top exit velocity of 77 mph and ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. From the outfield he shows average footwork. Could improve his crow-hop to generate more momentum. Throws from a high ¾ slot with 68 mph arm strength.
