Chris Protos: 1B/RHP, (2024) Westlake, OH. 6-foot-1, 195-pound. In the box, Protos best exit velocity was 91 mph. (71.0 mph bat speed average). (22.7 mph hand speed average). Started in an athletic quiet stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed is quick, displays a short simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 86 mph; had soft hands, consistent footwork, and a fluid exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. On the mound, showed a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 84-85 mph. Showed slight running action. (Max spin 2481; Avg 2400). He shows slight fading action on his changeup (74-77). Shows late tight action on his 10/4 slider (71-74). (Max spin 2671; Avg 2582).

Chris Protos: 1B/RHP, (2024) Westlake, OH. 6-foot-1, 195-pound solid build. Projectable at the plate, Protos clocked an exit velocity of 96 mph. (71.6 mph bat speed average). (22.4 mph hand speed average). Starts in a tall balanced stance with a big controlled load, then uses a big leg kick. Bat speed was explosive, displayed an upward rotational swing plane and good extension on his finish. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.66. On the mound, showed quick arm speed, he had a quick arm action with a ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Threw his fastball 83-85 mph; has running action and arm side command. (Max spin 2382; Avg 2283). His 11/5 curveball (72-74) showed plus action. (Max spin 2483; Avg 2415). Showed arm side control and fading action on his changeup (73-76). 

Chris Protos: RHP/1B, (2024) Westlake, OH. 6-foot, 185-pound. Athletic during batting practice, Protos had a max exit velocity of 93 mph. Started in a balanced tall stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a big leg kick. Bat speed was above average, showed an upward rotational swing plane and high finish. In his round he found multiple barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 76 mph; has choppy average feet, a natural exchange, and consistent hands. Clocked a 60 time of 8.64 at the event. Above average on the mound, showed a quick arm action and a ¾ arm angle with above average arm speed Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Has a consistent balance point. Curveball (68-68 mph), changeup (72-74 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 78-82 mph.

Chris Protos: 1B/RHP, (2024) Westlake, OH. 6-foot, 185-pound projectable frame. During batting practice, Protos recorded an exit velocity of 92 mph. Starts in a tall stance with a controlled compact load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed was above average, and used a short level swing plane. 

Scout Evaluation 

Hit: Physical bat form the right side. Natural tools are well above average for class. Intent driven stroke that works inside the baseball. Middle-back approach in BP.
Power: Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Middle ceiling.
Max BP Exit Velocity: 82mph.
Max BP Distance: 248ft.
Field: Good athlete over at first base who gets off the bag with above average lateral mobility. Ball skills are developing.
Throw: Arm profiles at the position.
Defensive Projection: 1B.

Scouting Notes: Definite follow in 2024 class. Easy velocity through a 3/4 slot. Fastball will add east velo and he can also spin a tight breaking ball.
Fastball: 74-76mph.

2/15/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: On the mound he gets downhill fairly well and throws from a low ¾ arm slot. He could more effectively hold tension with his upper body to add some velocity to his fastball.
Fastball: The fastball was 71-75 mph with good life through the zone.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1970-2050
Curveball: His breaking ball was 54-57 mph with good depth.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1830-2070
Changeup: The changeup was 64-67 mph. 

2/15/20 Position Player
Hit: At the plate Protos uses a toe tap load and creates good natural bat speed through the zone. He shows an on plane bat path and drives his barrel through the zone somewhat effectively.
Top BP Exit Velocity: 91.8 mph
Top BP Distance: 311 feet
Offensive Projection: TBD
Field: At 1B he shows average footwork and feel around the bag. Fairly good carry on his throws at time.
Throw: 71 mph across the diamond.
