2/9/20 Position Player Hit: Natural hit tools on full display. Athletic setup with very fluid and smooth motions. Simple loading sequence creates an on time swing. Maintains a level bat path through the zone creating natural loft. Power: Shows ability to hit to all fields for power. Potential for serious pull side power as he continues to fill out. Offensive Projection: Ideal 3-hole. Top Rapsodo BP Exit Velocity: 99 mph. Top Rapsodo BP Distance: 327 ft. Field: Athletic and under control in the outfield. Shows above average footwork and on par glove skills. Speed plays very well. Throw: Loose arm through a ¾ slot. More strength to come. Defensive Projection: LF/CF with a lean towards LF.
6/24/18
One of the prettiest swings in the 2020 class. Fluid actions in load with a loose, whippy swing when he pulls the trigger. BP was impressive, spraying it all over the field with backspin to both sides. Continues to get more physical each time we see him. In the outfield he is very fluid and functional. Plays through the baseball with above average ball skills. Arm is clean, projecting for more strength down the road. Center/left field type. Solid defender.

The only knock that has ever been on Zak is will he become physical enough to be a top prospect in his class. Slowly but surely he is starting to answer that question, gradually becoming more physical each time we see him. This time the added strength was most obvious at the plate. Swing showed more intent and with added juice while maintaining his same fluid, pretty stroke we’ve see in past. Also turned in his best 60-time to date and showed his typical LF/CF skill set in the outfield.
No stranger to the top performers list, Zak once again looked the part at the plate. When it comes to feel and barrel control he ranks amongst the state’s best in the 2020 class. Looks to have added strength to frame since we saw him in the summer. Works through a gap to gap approach at the plate with the ability to create backspin to either side of the field. Stays mostly within himself but will let it loose to pull side every once in a while. Already receiving attention from schools and his stock will continue to rise as he twitches up/becomes more physical.

9/24/17
9/24/17 Continues to show one of the top hit tools in his class. Swing is fluid and very mechanically efficient. Does a nice job of staying inside the strike zone and taking what the pitcher gives him. Zak has a chance to be dynamic as he develops strength and twitch with maturity. In the outfield he is very functionally athletic with smooth actions. Has feel for the spot and is mechanically sound. Projects best in left field presently with enough feel and arm to play center as foot speed develops.

Zak continues to impress this summer and is starting to emerge as one of the top pure hitters in his class. A very young prospect with a ton a physical maturing left. Swing is as mechanically sound as it gets and he has obvious feel for the barrel. Manages at bats very well, showing an advanced approach/knowledge of the strike zone for his age. Should grow into some power as he adds strength. The type of bat the plays anywhere in a lineup. In the outfield he showed fluid, athletic actions. Has obvious feel for the spot and plays through the baseball with ease. Arm strength is slightly above average presently with much more in the tank as he matures physically. Should grow into a guy who could have a chance to play all three spots.
A lefty swinger that showed a very fluid, efficient loading sequence. Swing is very efficient and any added strength should translate to immediate juice. Gets on plane early and showed feel for the barrel. Natural tools are developing. Has a three-hole look to him down the road as he fills out his frame. In the outfield he uses mechanically sound footwork approaching the baseball. Does a nice job of timing up the hop he wants and plays through the baseball efficiently. Arm is loose and clean. Look for arm strength to continue to get stronger with maturity.
A young, talented bat to follow in the 2020 class. Loading sequence in efficient and fluid. Advanced bat speed for frame/age. Path is level and the ball comes off his bat well. Does a nice job of getting the barrel on plane early. The combination of his swing efficiency and functional athleticism should easily translate to added pop as he adds strength with maturity. Defensively, he shows natural feel for the outfield position. Footwork is fluid. Approaches the ball in balanced, controlled manner and plays through it. Transfer is quick and clean. Arm is quick and figures to add velocity with continued maturity and physical development.

A talented prospect with a 5-foot-4, 115-pound frame. Numbers won’t jump out at you but Cole is very fluid and functionally athletic. Expect numbers to increase substantially as he matures. At the plate he used a rhythmic toe-tap load to create efficient forward energy that he was able to transfer into contact. During his stride he takes his hands back to keep himself balanced, before getting through the zone on a level path. Produced consistent line drives in batting practice and registered a top exit velocity of 70 mph off the tee. Was also impressive in the outfield, with advanced feel for the position and solid footwork. Plays through the ball nicely and was able to throw accurately to home plate with 74 mph arm strength. Ran an 8.04-60-yard dash.
