Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
6/5/18 A true switch hitter with a similar timing from both sides. Movements are athletic and create energy when synced. A line drive type swinger with some twitch and strength to hands. More pop than frame would suggest. Projects as a high average guy and I wouldn’t be shocked if grows into occasional power as he fills out athletic frame. Up the middle glove works well and actions are athletic. Gets rid of it quickly and can use multiple arm angles. Good athlete. Skill set plays up the middle leaning towards second base at the next level. 60-yard dash: 7.09 Infield Velocity: 80 Exit Velocity: R83, L83
2/18/18 Sets up on left side of the rubber. Small rocker step into big, slow lift. Delivery has some effort to it. Fastball was mostly straight at 79-81 mph. With added size and strength, this figures to make a jump. Slider shows spin to it at 72-73 mph. Doesn’t show consistent breaking action but throws it with faster arm speed than his curveball. Curveball showed two-plane action at 68-70 mph. More effective pitch out of two breaking balls. At shortstop he showed fluid actions defensively with smooth glovework and displaying his soft hands. Footwork was solid getting himself into strong throwing positions. Threw 76 mph across with diamond with accuracy. A switch hitter at the plate. From the right he shows more movement to loading sequence, incorporating a leg kick as barrel flows through load. A line drive type guy with present strength and twitch to hands. Impressed with his feel for squaring the ball up from the right side. From the other side of the box he has a more simple loading sequence but maintains natural tools. Looks to be a true switch at this stage. 60-yard dash: 7.15 Infield Velocity: 76 Exit Velocity: R 83, L 78
7/26/16 6-foot, 140-pound thinner frame with room to fill out. On the mound the righty has a slower tempo to a delivery that requires some effort. Drop and drive type guy, with room for improvement in his lower half. Works through a near over the top slot with his fastball sitting 75-78 mph. Curveball is sharp with good depth at 67-70 mph. Also through a changeup that had run and sink to it at 66-68 mph.
7/15/15 5-foo-9, 115-pound lanky, projectable frame. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Short, compact swing with a high finish and 73 mph exit velocity. Ran 4.54 home to first. In the infield he shows decent range for his age and fields the ball into his body. Throws from a short, high-3/4 slot with 69 mph across the infield.
