2/4/18

On the mound the southpaw shows athletic actions and a balanced delivery. Arm is long, generating above average arm speed through a near over the top slot. Fastball will work downhill at 75-77 mph, consistently pounding the lower half of the zone. Spins a 1/7 shaped breaking that plays as an above average offering when in the zone. Puts good spin on the pitch at 62-63 mph. Looks to be an offering that can put hitters away. Will throw his changeup with feel and conviction at 66-68 mph. The type of offering that should be able to produce regular weak contact. A left-handed hitter at the plate. Starts in a narrow, athletic setup. Load is smooth, going with a leg kick for timing. Barrel whips through the zone, showing feel and the ability to find plane consistently. Ball comes off well to both fields. Generates regular backspin. A type of bat that plays in a variety of roles inside an offense. Looks the part in the outfield. Feet work well and he stays athletic through. Showed the arm for all three spots.

6/20/17

A lefty swinger that starts in a tall setup. Takes his hands back during his controlled stride forward. Loading sequence creates torque and separation. Path is mostly level with some loft at times. Consistently finds the barrel and produces line drives to both fields. Top of the lineup type guy. In game he showed the ability to handle velocity and ripped three, line drive singles. In the outfield he plays fast and with confidence. Fields two-handed through the baseball, maintaining momentum into his throws. Arm strength is above average and throws showed solid carry. On the mound the southpaw uses an average tempo into an easy leg that does not require much effort. Does a nice job creating momentum toward the plate while landing slightly closed at foot strike. Fastball comes out of a high ¾ arm slot at 73-76 mph. Shows an advanced feel for his curveball which is best breaking pitch. Shows the ability to throw to batters on both sides of the plate. Curveball is a big breaker with a near 12/6 shape at 60-65 mph. Mixed in a firm changeup at 71-72 mph.

5-foot-10, 155-pound prospect. A southpaw that uses a quicker tempo to his repeatable delivery.  Arm has some quickness to while working through a high-3/4 slot. Fastball was anywhere from 73-75 mph and topped at 77 mph.  A strike thrower that showed the ability to consistently be in the zone with his secondary stuff. His 2/8 shaped breaking ball showed big break with impressive depth at times, coming in at 63-68 mph. Was able to maintain fastball arm speed on his changeup that had fade to it at 65-67 mph. An athletic outfielder that is mechanically sound. At times fields two handed to ensure ball security. Throws were consistently on target with carry. Left-handed hitter that shows obvious improvement since the last time that we saw him. starts from tall stance. Uses small leg kick to initiate lower half. Transfers weight well through contact. Young looking 5-foot-6, 125-pound skinny, projectable body frame, with room to fill out with. From the outfield he uses good footwork to approach ground balls, fielding the ball out in front glove side, near his right foot. He throws with a clean arm action coming from an upper ¾ slot using 75 mph velocity. Left-handed hitter starts from a closed stance, with his hands staying close to his body at chest level. He uses a hands back load that gets to an arm-bar position. Swings with a flat bat path through the zone, finishing with a high, two-handed follow through. He showed the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice. Reached a top exit velocity of 71 mph and ran a 4.40 out of the batter’s box to first base.
