Josh Laisure: RHP/SS, (2021) Olentangy Orange, OH. Wright State Commit, 6-foot, 170-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 93 mph. Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a toe tap. Bat speed is explosive, shows an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 83 mph; has soft hands, a natural exchange, and athletic feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. Showed his athleticism during the event with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.97. Advanced on the mound, has lightning arm speed with a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Changeup (81-82 mph), slider (79-82 mph).Sat with his fastball at 91-93 mph. 

2/9/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: High follow arm in the 2021 class. Slow tempo delivery with low effort. Long, loose arm through a ¾ slot. Athletic on the mound. Delivery looks repeatable and clean mechanically. Fastball: Throws a heavy ball. Offering shows heavy arm side movement at times. Fastball Spin Rate:1880-2130. Curveball: 11/4 slurvey type breaking ball with sharp bite and good depth. Above average offering. Serious swing and miss potential. Changeup: Shows solid fade and good feel for the pitch. 2/9/20 Position Player Hit: Regarded more as a pitching prospect, Laisure can still swing it. Starts out in a balanced setup. Quiet hands and a simple load that creates regular timing. Level bat path through the zone with varied ball flight. Power: Gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Table setter Top Rapsodo BP Exit Velocity: 87 mph. Top Rapsodo BP Distance: 252 ft. Field: Looks fluid at third base. Occasionally plays on his heels. Above average glove skills. Plays through the ball well fielding left of center. Throw: Doesn’t show off the arm as much as he does on the mound but the strength is in there. Ball comes out of a ¾ slot very clean and quick. Defensive Projection: 3B.

5-foot-10 right-hander with an athletic, uptempo delivery. Very compact, short arm action that makes it difficult for hitters to pick up. Arm is quick and he spins everything well. The 84-87 mph fastball plays up due to spin rate. Both secondary offerings are more than playable. An arm to keep an eye on that competes in the zone.

Body Type: 5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Good athlete with a fluid, easy delivery. High-¾ right-hander with obvious arm strength.
Fastball: 84-87 mph. Heavy pitch/high spin rate guy.
Curveball: 67-72 mph. 11/5 shaped breaking ball with late bite. Pitch showed signs of swing and miss to it.
Changeup: 72-74 mph. Good sell on the offering that has a bit of fading action.
Pitchability: In/out of the zone throughout the bullpen.
Additional Comments: Very intriguing arm with quality stuff. Ball comes out easy. Scholarship arm talent.

Swing Mechanics: Right-handed hitter that starts in a tall stance. Uses a smooth load that creates both energy and balance.
Hit: Swing really works. Athletic kid that keeps getting more physical each time we see him. Impressive combination of feel for contact and natural tools. Ball jumps to both gaps. One of the top BPs of the day.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity. Much more than we’ve seen in past. Grown into gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: 3-hole look to him.
Run: 4.39 home to 1st.
Field: Infield with fluid actions and above average ball skills. Looks comfortable out there with feel for the spot. Feet work well on the move. Solid defender.
Throw: 72 mph arm strength across the diamond. Clean arm. Doesn’t really let it fly in the infield which is more than ok with his quick transfer. After his performance on the mound you know it’s in there if he needs it.
Defensive Projection: Left side of the infield with a slight lean to third base.

A young, talented right-hander on the mound. Delivery is low effort and fluid. Arm is clean with well above average strength/speed through a near over the top slot. Ball jumps out of his hands with his fastball sitting 81-82 mph. Spins a sharp breaking ball with big action on an 11/5 plane at 67-70 mph. Completing his arsenal was the changeup, thrown with near fastball arm speed. The pitch shows fade at 70-71 mph. Both secondary offerings are above average stuff wise but will need to be in the zone more consistently. Impressive arm talent for class. At the plate he keeps hands simple during his leg lift and controlled stride. Shows good hand speed for class with some strength at contact. Path is slightly downhill and he swings with intent. A line drive type that projects for extra base hit ability once swing adds loft. A mechanically sound infielder with fluid actions. Ball skills are above average for class. Actions are athletic and he moves well laterally. Arm plays as an above average tool and accuracy should come with maturity.

A righty swinger that starts in a tall, athletic setup. Stays fluid throughout his load. Uses a double tap for timing and energy. Hands stay relatively simple prior to launch. Barrel maintains fluidity throughout loading sequence. Path is level with well above average bat speed. Swing showed obvious twitch. Drove the gaps on occasion and routinely produced line drives in BP.  An impressive young infielder. First step is quick and he showed well above average lateral mobility. Glove skills are impressive stationary and on the move. A two-way prospect. He has a smooth motion from leg kick to his high 3/4 arm slot. Body is in sync. He has a quick tempo and quick delivery to the batters. FB had some late run. CB had a 11/5 break with some 12/6 break.

5-foot-3, 105-pound prospect. In the infield he had some athleticism to his actions and showed confidence in his glove. Would like to see him work on fielding the ball more out in front of his body. From a ¾ slot he showed off impressive arm strength across the diamond, reaching a top velocity of 64 mph. Ran an 8.44 60-yard dash. Worked downhill from a high ¾ arm slot using short arm action. Fastball was 65-69 mph, big breaking 12/6 curve, and 60-61 mph sinking change up. Even stance resting the bat on his shoulder. Used a line drive approach while hitting the ball hard. Uses the entire field.
