Body Type: 6-foot-1 170-pound prospect. Swing Mechanics: At the plate Johnson showed good barrel control with a swing initiated by a leg kick. Swing was a bit long at times. Showed an uphill bat path and an athletic finish. Hit: Good barrel control and bat to ball ability. Power: 91 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Shows athleticism to his swing. Should be a guy with gap to gap power. Could develop more raw power as he fills out his frame. Field: 1.91-2.01 pop time. Behind the plate he showed solid footwork with a good, clean exchange on his throws. Could help himself by getting his arm action a little more compact. Still showed a quick arm. At 1B checked the boxes with decent feet and feel around the bag.| Run: 7.18 60 yard dash. Throw: 73 mph from behind the plate. 72 mph across the diamond. Defensive Projection: Presently shows more long term projection if he stays behind the plate. Still has room to improve with basic skill work but the basic athleticism is there.
