Comments

7/01/19

Body Type: 5-foot-7, 145-pound athletic, wiry strong frame.

Swing Mechanics: Balanced stance with a smooth lower half and vertical barrel launch.

Hit:  Fast bat that packs much more of a punch at contact than frame would suggest. Stays inside the baseball well, uses the entire field, and can generate natural backspin.

Power:  85 mph off the bat in BP. Line drive guy who can find the gaps.

Offensive Projection: Top of the lineup.

Run: 4.37 H-1st. Speed shows up in the outfield and on the bases.

Field: Very solid defender in the outfield. Plays fast too and through. Confident actions with ball skills to match.  Behind the dish, he features super quick feet and a smooth transfer.  Good feel behind the plate with the ability to move side to side.  Receives and blocks the baseball very well.

Throw: Above average strength for class with present accuracy.  Behind the dish, he features a good arm with a short and compact arm slot.

Defensive Projection: CF/LF.

Additional Comments: Talented, hard nosed player. Also a wrestler that went to states as a freshman.

8/1/18
Marsh has high end speed and it shows on both sides of the ball. Center/left fielder type with feel out there. Gets too and through the baseball quickly before tossing it with above average strength. Although ceiling is higher in the outfield presently he also shows an above average skill set behind the dish. At the plate he has a top of the lineup skill set with sneaky pop for frame. Both strength and speed are apparent in stroke.

7/10/18
A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Uses a back load with hands during stride forward. Intent driven swing on a level path. Fast bat with strength to hands. Ball comes off very well, taking one of the louder rounds of BP we saw at the event. Worked out in both the outfield and behind the dish. In the outfield he moves very well, getting too and through the baseball in a timely fashion. CF/LF type with more arm than most. Behind the dish he has quickness to both feet and transfer. Actions appear slightly raw but athleticism is obvious back there and ball comes out quickly and firmly.

6/27/18
Really good athlete who can really run and possesses advanced strength for frame/age. Ran the fastest 60-yard dash (7.07) and recorded the second highest exit velocity of the day (84 mph). At the plate he starts in a balanced setup before getting into his toe turn load. Swing is a bit raw but bat flies through the zone with impressive speed and obvious authority through contact. I could see his hit tool playing in the leadoff spot or three hole. Worked out behind the dish and in the outfield. Ceiling looks to be higher in the outfield where he has a center fielder skill set but can really catch and throw behind the dish.

6/28/17
A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Loading sequence is simple, taking hands slightly back during his short stride. Swing is compact on a level to slightly uphill path. Bat has some quickness to it. More strength than frame would suggest. Has a top of the lineup look to him. Was at his best when he used the middle of the field. In the outfield he looks comfortable in athletic. Moves with fluidity approaching the baseball and plays through with above average ball skills. Showed feel for the position. Arm strength is developing.
60-yard Dash: 7.45
Outfield Velocity: 70
Exit Velocity: 82
