1/25/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Southpaw on the mound to follow. Good pace to delivery that comes together well. Long, somewhat loose arm through a high-3/4 slot. Fastball: Velo has ticked up when we saw him last. Above average spin rate guy. 79-81 mph. Fastball Spin Rate: 2050-2140. Curveball: Sweeping breaking ball with good depth to it. Above average offering that has quality movement to it. 71-72 mph. Curveball Spin Rate: 1800-1900. Changeup: Looks playable. Consistent fading action to it. Pitchability: In the zone for the most part.
1/26/20 Position Player Hit: Smooth mover from the left side. Running start with lower half with quiet hands into contact. Compact, level stroke through the zone. Ball comes off well. Nice combination of strength and bat speed. Power: Line drive pop with flashes of gap. Offensive Projection: TBD. Top Rapsodo BP Exit Velocity: 93 mph. Top Rapsodo BP Distance: 353 ft.
1/27/19 Pitching Body Type: 6-foot, athletic build at 185-pounds. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Uptempo delivery that is intent driven. Efficient lower half that creates both energy and direction. Slinging LHP that comes through a ¾ slot. Interesting arm that is young for his grade. Fastball: 77-79 mph. Cross-fire lefty that has some late action on the heater. Could easily see more velo down the road considering how young he is and quality movement patterns. Curveball: 67-69 mph. Playable pitch that has a 2/8 shape. Slider look to it. In the zone often. Changeup: 71-73 mph. Good pitch with cut to it. Looked comfortable with it.
1/27/19 Body Type: 6-foot, athletic build at 185-pounds. Swing Mechanics: Lefty swinger with an upright setup. Barrel flows to a vertical launch during his short stride for timing. Hit: Compact, slightly downhill path with quick hands and developing strength. All fields guy in BP that can spray it abit. Power: 84 mph exit velocity. Line drive guy with more to come. Offensive Projection: Top of the Lineup. Run: 4.88 H-1st. Field: Plays off the bag under control and with feel. An above average athlete functionally for the position. Ball skills are there. Throw: Showed 67 mph arm strength across the diamond. Loose arm with more strength to come. Defensive Projection: 1B.
2/16/18 An athletic build at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. On the bump the southpaw has a slower paced tempo to a delivery he is able to repeat. Fastball comes through a ¾ slot sitting 71-73 mph. Ball comes out easy and his slot puts natural run on the heater. Breaking ball is tight with gradual action on a 1/7 plane at 61-65 mph. Also will toss a playable changeup that has some fade to it at 58-59 mph. A strike thrower with signs of more velocity on its way. A left-handed hitter that stars in a balanced setup. Goes with a slight back load during his short stride forward. An ambush type guy who makes contact off front side. Swing is compact with a downhill plane. Ball comes off well, generating impressive pop for class. Would like to see him level out path to produce more regular backspin and allow his above average natural tools show more frequently in swing. A good athlete with impressive feel for the first base position. Looks athletic off the bag with the ability to vary depth to create efficient throwing lanes. Does a very nice job of going out to get the ball to create a short hop on scoops. Solid defender over there. In the outfield he is mechanically sound with fluid actions. Ball skills are average to slightly above average for the spot. His quick transitions makes his arm play as a better tool than velocity would suggest.
Infield Velocity: 68
Outfield Velocity: 74
Exit Velocity: 80
9/17/17 Swings it from the left side of the box, starting in a balanced setup. A contact guy with some twitch through the zone. A handsy hitter that takes a slightly downhill path to the baseball. Barrel shows whip as he works to the inside of the ball. Top of the lineup candidate down the road that has enough juice to find the gap. At first base he brings well above average athleticism to the position. Feet are quick and he can change direction with ease. Glove looks to be an above average tool well. Has feel around the bag. In the outfield he plays cautiously in his approach. Stops momentum at fielding to ensure ball security. Would like to see him play with more urgency and maintain momentum through fielding into his throws. Showed the functional athleticism to play out there. On the bump the southpaw varies his tempo on his delivery. Transitions smoothly from leg lift into hip load/stride. Lower half creates energy and direction. Arm moves through a near ¾ slot with slinging arm action. Fastball was anywhere from 68-71 with consistent run. Also spins a gradual breaking curveball that has a 1/7 shape to it. 60-yard dash: 8.28 Infield Velocity: 66 Outfield Velocity: 69 Exit Velocity: 72
3/19/17 On the mound, the left handed pitcher uses a quick tempo type delivery to the plate. Throws through a deceptive low ¾ arm slot that could be tough on the hitter’s eye. Fastball consistently sits between 70-72 mph. Breaking ball displays gradual break towards the plate at 62-64 mph. Uses good fastball arm speed with his 68-69 mph changeup. In the outfield he uses quick footwork and gets to the ball in a timely fashion. Varied between fielding on his glove foot side and in the middle of his body. Much more efficient when fielding on his glove foot side. Throws were on target with above average arm strength. At the plate he starts balanced prior to his knee pinch load. Hands stay simple as they move to launch. Has some room to grow mechanically but natural tools are impressive. Has the tools to hit in the middle of the lineup. Ball jumped off his bat when he found the barrel in batting practice. 60-yard dash: 8.18 Infield Velocity: 65 Outfield Velocity: 71 Exit Velocity: 76
