Trevor Newtz: 3B/2B, (2022) Westerville North, OH. 6-foot, 190-pound proportional frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 83 mph. Begins in a tall open stance with a smooth quick load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed is average and has a level swing plane. Solid in the infield, his best throw was registered at 78 mph; has consistent feet, soft hands, and a clean exchange. Fielded the ball out front with average movement laterally. Clocked a 60 time of 7.76 at the event.
8/1/18 Righty swinger that starts in a tall setup. Unique loading sequence but works for him. Takes a mostly level path to contact, displaying more present strength than speed through the zone. Ball jumps, especially to pull side. In the outfield he plays under control with quiet actions. Plays through with solid ball skill. Ball comes out easy and throws showed accuracy.
7/10/18 A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Goes with a leg kick for timing as hands stay quiet through load and into launch. Balanced swing with an uphill path to contact. Swing shows a bit more strength than speed presently. Ball comes off well showing gap abilities and some emerging loft power to pull side. A third baseman with the frame for the spot and feel for the position. Feet work well and hands look soft through fielding. Loose arm the projects for more strength with maturity. Corner frame and skill set in the outfield. Plays aggressive too and with confidence through. Looks to be a solid defender at both spots. 60-yard dash: 7.6 Infield Velocity: 72 Outfield Velocity: 73 Exit Velocity: 75
3/4/18 5-foot-11, 172 pound prospect bats right handed with a longer, level bat path through the zone. Lower half worked activated well. Turned on several pitches and drove them showing some power potential. Exit velocity off the tee was 73 mph. A versatile defender that worked out at both third base and the outfield. Looked the part at third base. Has the frame for the spot and plays with mechanically sound footwork. Ball skills look to be above average for class as well. In the outfield he has a corner look to him. Uses shorter footwork in his approach and plays through with confidence. Arm showed accuracy and carry with solid strength for his age. The right handed pitcher throws through a 3/4 slot with quick, whippy-like arm action. Fastball works straight through the zone while sitting between 69-72 mph. His breaking ball displays some added depth as it features some sharp 10/4 movement at 58-61 mph. Also mixes in a 61-63 mph changeup while displaying added arm-side run. 60-yard dash: 7.76 Outfield Velocity: 70 Exit Velocity: 75
