8/13/18

Vanderbilt recruit, 6-foot-6, 22-5pound southpaw has a durable frame, fastball was up to 90 mph early on before settling in at 85-86. It shows cut to the glove side, and comes out of a deceptive slot that seems to jump right from his ear. His breaking ball got better as the outing went along, and he showed feel for manipulating the shape at 72-76. He has advanced feel for the pitch which features type spin, and sharp, lateral break. He also threw a faded changeup in the low-eighties.

Fastball sits 81-83 mph, flashed late cut glove side. Two-seam shows some run and sink, 76-78. Changeup has good fade and depth, 73-75. Curveball rolls, 1/7 shape, 69-71.

Curveball showed good depth when down in the zone, 1/7 shape, 69-71. Retired the side in order in his inning of work with two ground outs and a punch out. Fulton pounded the zone, throwing only 3 balls. Offensively, left-handed hitter, middle of the field, line drive approach, a good round of BP. Slightly narrow set-up, reverse toe-tap for timing, flat bat path through contact, quality leg drive, high finish, 82 mph exit velo.  Runs a 7.93 60. Defensively, relatively quick actions, slightly choppy at times, high-3/4 slot, 73 mph to third base with accuracy. In-game, Fulton went 1/2 with a walk and drove a double deep into the left-center gap.
