Positional Profile: OF
Body: 5-foot-11, 165-pound lean and athletic frame with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: LHH. At the plate starts with a neutral stance with an athletic posture. Hands get set at shoulder height with a flat barrel load right before hands launch. Simple stride with even weight distribution between feet. Short load into the back side with easy weight transfer to front foot. Very good overall hand speed and bat speed with some developing strength at contact with the hands. Simple and repeatable swing mechanics with projectable skills.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity off the tee and 90 mph exit velocity during BP.
Arm: LH. OF-84 mph. High ¾ arm slot with quick hand speed and arm working across down to the opposite hip. Shorter arm action on the back end with strong pull down at release.
Defense: In the outfield shows good instincts and ability to cover a lot of ground. Smooth rhythm when attacking the ball and finishes slightly under the ball at catch. Utilizes a shuffle crow hop with good momentum headed towards to the target. Good actions on grounds balls with feel for fielding the ball with glove action out in front of the body.
Run: 6.88 runner in the 60.
A 5-foot-11, 155-pound; OF/LHP. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 81 mph. Started in a balanced stance with a wrapping load, then used a long stride before his swing. Had a flat swing plane, quick bat speed and a level finish. In BP, shows a gap-to-gap approach with occasional lift, found mostly barrels. Recorded an outfield position velocity of 78 mph;had quick feet and a quick exchange. Showing consistent accuracy to the bases, he used a high ¾ slot and a short arm action. He clocked a 60 time of 7.12 at the event.
A lean 5-foot-11, 155-pound projectable frame. On the mound, the left-hander works from a slightly up tempo delivery with a slight pause at the top of his high leg kick before striding down the mound and finishing slightly to the third base side. Arm action is long and loose in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 71-74 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball shows near 12/6 shape at 62-63 mph. Changeup shows some fade at 66-67 mph, mostly strikes. In the game Wright retired all four batters he faced, striking out one.
