11/3/17 - Now 5-foot-11, 160-pounds, moves well behind the plate with bounce in his lower half, would fall off and could be more direct with body on his pop times, was still 2.19 as a 2020 grad. Showed rhythm in setup from right side offensively. Line drive approach that looked to stay up the middle, squared up some balls in BP, good fundamentals to work with as a young catcher with strength gains in his future.
7/5/17 2020 grad with good frame at 5-foot-11, 150-pounds to add strength and size. Right-handed hitting catcher with some whip through the zone offensively. Creates rhythm by getting on backside with small leg lift to launch position. Gets body moving forward to baseball and lets hands fly, best swings were when he stayed inside and created contact out front. Defensively, looks comfortable receiving. Feet are direct, can create more movement towards second base and not get too high too quickly on his throws. Shows good feel for position and was around the bag all day. Lots of time for Salazar to develop and has fundamentals and good idea to build off of. 60-Yard Dash: 7.60 Exit Velocity: 74 Pop Time: 2.26 C Velocity: 69
