Our staff got our first look at ‘23 LHP Keegan O’Hearn (Michigan commit) this summer on Monday night in Oshawa and it was an electric two-inning performance from the top-ranked arm in Ontario. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound left-hander sat 91-93 T95 with heavy arm-side run from a tough, low- arm slot. He was consistently getting ahead with the pitch and there were plenty of uncomfortable ABs. Slider is the go-to offspeed pitch at 73-74mph with shape and sweep, as well as a changeup at 81-82mph. He manipulates the slider at times, creating more of a vertical look at 69-70. Impressive stuff from O’Hearn at a good time with the draft now less than a month away.
8/17/22
O’Hearn, 6-foot-5, 210-pounds immediately stood out with his long, athletic frame when he walked into the park. He was the big winner of the night, showcasing 2-way potential. In the box, he had an electric round of BP hitting line-drive after line-drive up the middle and to RF, leaving the yard multiple times. He capped off his hitting performance by hitting a no-doubter out to RF. On the mound, he threw from a /4 slot with a long arm action. His FB was 97-89 T91 and jumped out of his hand. It was a slow CB at 65-68 that got swing and miss. It’s safe to say the JNT member has upside on both sides of the ball.
2/17/22
O’Hearn, a 6-foot-5, 195 pound outfielder stood out immediately with his long, lean frame. At the dish, O’Hearn put together the loudest round of BP we saw on Thursday, attacking the ball with an aggressive swing and it jumped off his bat. He was up to 98.8 mph and was consistent all night long showcasing his power to the pullside with an aggressive swing. There is huge upside in O’Hearn’s game as he prepares to head to Northeastern JC.
