Physical: Highly athletic 6-foot-1, 190lb frame with added strength. 6.94 runner in 60.
Offensively: RHH. Slightly open, upright stance, as the hands work in rhythm. Utilized a controlled leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a direct, lifted path into the hitting zone. Produced strong wrists and burst to pull side of field; T93MPH exit at 344FT. Covers the entire plate.
Defensively: The outfielder displayed the best arm-strength of the entire event, reaching back for a live 95MPH bullet to target. Can track it down in space and handle middle of field role in future.
Pitching: RHP. Elastic, loose delivery that pitches off of the far left side of rubber; quick tempo and competes. Held 87-88MPH with feel for spin and mixed U70’s SL out of the same window to glove-side (2500+rpms). Low-80’s CH has vastly improved, late fade.
6/12/22
Physical: Lengthy 6-foot-1, 165lb frame with two-way upside. 6.86 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, even stance, as the hands operated loosely at the shoulder to begin. Utilized a leg-kick stride to initiate the swing through a flat path towards a whippy one-handed finish. Checked the boxes in multiple measurable categories (bat-speed, hand-speed, on-plane) and drove the ball gap to gap during his round. Posted a T91 mph bat-exit velocity with a top of the order skill set (73% sweet spot rate).
Defensively: The outfielder displayed rounded footwork downhill through the ball. Above-average pace and feel in space while getting rid of the ball from a fluid, full H ¾ slot up to 89 mph from his position. Arm-talent carries to the mound.
Pitching: RHP. The righty created good direction down the slope with a calm front side and an aggressive lower half. Timed up delivery that repeated, landing 83-85 mph FB with riding life up to 2500+rpms. Mixed hard 75-77 mph SL with late depth and killed upper-70’s CH.
2/27/22
Physical: Ultra-lean, athletic 6-foot, 165lb with feel for the game. 6.86 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Crouched, square stance, as the hands showed rhythm lower by the shoulder before lifting to a higher launch position. Utilized a controlled leg-lift stride with some hip coil to initiate the swing through a flat path towards a two-handed finish on the backside. Produced a line drive approach, notching a T90 mph bat-exit velocity and 62% sweet spot rate. Featured occasional twitch in the box and handled the inner half, doubles approach.
Defensively: The outfielder gilded around during defensive evals, rounding the ball downhill while scooping it off of his left side. Clean exchange and displayed a top OF arm at 90 mph (carry, accuracy) to the plate.
Pitching: RHP - The righty begins from the middle of the rubber with a calm delivery, pressing the gas as the lead foot grabbed the ground. Quick arm-speed from a H ¾ slot and landed an 83-85 mph FB for strikes. Mixed a sharp, two-plane 71-73 mph CB out of the same window; can spin it.
8/03/21
Physical: Projectable, athletic 5-foot-11, 160lb frame with fluid actions. 7.08 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Taller, slightly open stance with the hands waving in rhythm high to start. Utilized a controlled leg-kick stride to initiate a whippy, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Maintained a natural presence in the box, consistently on time to the front of the plate with advanced feel for the barrel. Able to make swings look easy (low effort) with a 50% line drive rate and 330+ foot batted ball distance for doubles power to pull (via Trackman). Has a chance to hit for average down the road and produced a T91 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak, profiling towards a top of the order role.
Defensively: The outfielder showed off confidence on his reps, gaining advantageous positioning on the baseball early in routes. The feet moved actively and a soft glove hand could work inside/outside the left foot accurately. Funneled to the chest line, releasing with pace from H ¾ slot (85 mph arm, carry).
Pitching: RHP - Started off the left side of the rubber with clean pace down the slope and solid ground usage off the backside drive leg. Exploded into footstrike with an athletic delivery pounding the zone at H ¾. The FB ranged from 81-82 with ability to miss barrels up above the belt, landing a short, late breaking 69-71 mph CB with 11/5 shape. Then killed spin successfully on a 71-73 mph CH with some depth to the arm-side of the plate.
6/15/21
Physical: Lean, highly efficient 5-foot-11, 165lb frame with athleticism in the actions. 6.97 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, slightly open stance with rhythm in the hands at the shoulder; utilized a knee knock, leg lift stride and reached outward to an even position, launching through a flat path into the hitting zone at impact. Smooth swing and matched pitch-plane early, allowing for a 50% line drive rate via Trackman and worked his way up to a T89 mph bat-exit velocity during a standout batting practice round. Showed the ability to hit for average down the road and found his greatest successes hitting the ball hard to the LCF gap for extra-bases. Top of the order presence that will see measurables continue increasing with added strength.
Defensively: The primary outfielder demonstrated quick feet, staying light on his toes with range in either direction. Good pace and wasted no time in the approach, exchanging accurately/quickly to the ear and releasing through a full arm circle (H ¾, 88 mph arm) projecting with ability to handle any of the three outfield positions moving forward. Down chest angles and featured good route awareness off the bat.
Pitching: RHP - Started from the stretch only off the middle, right side of the rubber; high leg lift with coil over the backside before driving downward through the land at footstrike, working connected into the strike zone at 78-81 mph (33% zone rate, mostly straight out of the hand). Mixed a short 67-69 mph breaker with 11/5 tilt and countered with a quality 70-72 mph CH as the go-to offspeed pitch in advantage counts, keeping hitters between speeds.
3/06/21
Physical: 5’10 160lb OF ran a 7.33 laser timed 60-yard dash. Small frame has room to add size and strength with time.
Offensively: He starts in a wide stance with his front heel lifted off the ground. His hands have a short rhythm to them as they hold the bat pointed straight up. He begins his load with a knee knock as he strides forward. He aggressively fires the barrel into the hitting zone as he drives off of his back leg through the swing.
Defensively: He approaches the ball slowly but as soon as he receives it he puts it into another gear and explodes into a short crow hop. His arm works over the top as he pulls down to his target with intent behind the throw.
Pitching: He uses pretty standard mechanics leading up to his balance point where he has a slight lean backwards as he begins his move down the mound. He has a little hitch between his throwing hand and glove separation. His arm works quick and efficiently and arm strength should improve with added size and strength.
