2022 MLB Draft League: Cossetti is a well-rounded catcher who contributes in all facets of the game despite not having particularly loud tools. Quick bat combined with advanced approach/swing-decision ability translates to effortless triple-digit EVs from line to line, along with above-average raw pullside power. Good catch-and-throw guy who compensates for near average arm strength with quick transfer and good footwork. Advanced game-caller and blocker with room to improve as a receiver.
Verbally committed to St. Joseph's, Cossetti showed the all-around game that currently has him residing in in the top 10 of our sophomore class rankings. The right-handed hitter attacked the baseball and flashed legit bat speed. Has a lot of action in his swing, including a big leck kick, but he stays behind his front side and the ball jumps off his bat. Consistently takes quality swings due to good plate discipline and knowledge of the strike zone, while he also shows an ability to foul off tough pitches with two strikes. Didn't have much in the way of throwing opportunities in this game, but he exhibited solid receiving ability and presented the baseball well to the umpire.
3/23/16 St. Joseph's commit is a legit catch-and-throw guy, posting pop times of 1.97-2.00 over the bag. Quick transfer and release, plenty of arm strength with carry. Right-handed hitter attacks the baseball from a closed stance with low hands to start. Didn't elevate anything to the outfield on this day, but has a chance to really drive the baseball.
