8/2/14 Verratti made the defensive play of the event for Team PA with a sliding, back hand catch on the warning track in right center field to take away a triple from a Team Kansas hitter. The junior made the catch in full stride near the 390' sign after making a long run to even have a chance to come up with the ball. Verratti ran a 7.04 60-yard dash, registered an 85 mph bat exit velocity and showcased an 88 mph arm from the outfield during scout day activities. The right-handed hitter consistently worked himself into hitters counts and displayed the ability to get on base routinely against quality pitching reaching in three of his six at bats (two walks and a hit by pitch).
5/4/14 Verratti barreled up a mid-80s RHP for a double and single, while continuing to show aggressiveness on the base paths.
11/2/13 Verratti is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect with an above average 80 mph arm from the outfield. He uses an infield arm action to get rid of the baseball quickly with good straight line carry. The right-handed hitter is very strong for his size and has quick hands. He barreled the baseball routinely and displayed a 78 mph bat exit velocity.
8/25/13 Verratti showed athleticism and developing arm strength in the outfield with throws of 80 mph. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound right-handed hitter showcased a compact swing out of a square stance and the ability to barrel the baseball consistently in batting practice. Verratti utilized a lift and replace stride foot and quick hands to create a bat exit velocity of 79 mph. He went 0-for-6 with a walk in game action, but squared the baseball for outs in several at bats.
