2/06/21

Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-7, 135-pound frame with room to continue adding strength as he matures. 7.06 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Bent, slightly open setup with the hands flat above the shoulder. Utilized a leg lift stride in order to initiate the barrel through a flat path and into the hitting zone. Hit into a stiff front side with solid twitch in the swing and quick hands towards impact (22 mph hand speed). A 77 mph bat-exit velocity was accompanied by a 64% fly ball rate, which needs to give way to improving on a 27% line drive rate at that size. The swing works and the bat to ball skills are there, Vanelli is going to have a chance to legitimately swing it in the near future.

Defensively: The primary middle infielder featured quick feet with a lightning-like first step beating the ball to the spot, was on his toes primarily and light on his feet in all directions, good range any which way, and a soft glove hand out in front. Accurate 71 mph velocity across the diamond from a short and quick, high ¾ slot.

11/02/19

5-foot-5, 115-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a direct swing path with a line drive approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 67 mph and ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Displayed a tendency to field the baseball deep from a narrow base. Showed accurate 71 mph arm strength across the diamond from a long arm throwing motion. Overall skill set will benefit from strength gains through physical maturity.
