A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
The reactive strength index measurement of an athlete's explosiveness by comparing their jump height to the ground contact time in between their jumps. On a scale of 0-5.
Vertical Jump
A measure of any athlete's body strength and reach calculated from the flight time divided by the contact time.
The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: 5-11, 140 pounds; Wiry, Lean build. Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup working primarily from the stretch. Minimal leg lift with a slight lean over the belt. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while arm stays in line with 2B; standard 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 76 MPH, while sitting 72-75 MPH; arm side run. CB: 65-68 MPH; early action. CH: 64-67 MPH; fading action.
6/14/22
Physical: Lean, developing 5-foot-10, 138lb frame with room to fill.
Pitching: RHP. Operates from the stretch-only off the right side of the rubber; crouched set position and utilizes drop-and-drive to get down the slope with intent out of a quick-armed H ¾ slot. The FB ranged 70-72 mph with hard run in on righties, mixing a lateral 58-61 mph CB across the plate. Added 62-64 mph CH to round out the arsenal.
6/07/22
Physical: 5-foot-10, 135 pounds; Lean, slender build. Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup working primarily from the stretch. Belt high leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a moderate stride while landing slightly open. Short take back while showing no restrictions; standard 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 72 MPH, while sitting 70-72 MPH; arm side run. CB: MPH. SL: 62-63 MPH. CH: 62-64 MPH.
