6/13/21

Physical: Projectable, athletic 6-foot, 170lb frame with room to continue holding strength. 7.65 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, upright stance with a slight bend in the knees, the hands started flat/high at the shoulder to begin; utilized a short leg lift stride while entering the hitting zone though a flat/rotational path flashing good bat to ball skills. Very calm, low-intent and smooth round spraying contact all over the field at head height (57% fly ball rate) and posted an 83 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman Baseball. Ability to continue adding strength for consistent extra-base hits to the LCF gap (283 foot batted ball distance); top of the order traits at the moment.

Defensively: The primary catcher operated from a quiet, narrow traditional setup behind the dish using a soft, absorbing glove hand on the corners. Pop times ranged from 2.08-2.15 with a slight hitch at the top of the exchange before dropping down to a whippy ¾ slot on the release (72 mph arm). Throws tailed arm-side, using the turf for good measure on occasion. Feet worked replaceable and in-line towards the target; demonstrated adequate blocking skills, shielding the ball downward over the plate.

Shows a big target for the pitcher. Above average footwork behind the plate. The front side opens up slightly. Quick exchange and throws from a mid ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity was 69 MPH. Pop time ranged from a 2.21-2.26.
