Notes

Comments

6/12/22

Physical: Thicker, broad-shouldered 5-foot-9, 195lb frame. 7.43 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: LHH. Narrow, crouched, open stance, as the hands started upright to begin. Utilized a short lift and replace stride to initiate the swing through a whippy, flat path into the hitting zone. Some weight-shift forward into a strong front side with minor give after impact. Recorded a 90 mph exit velocity during a mostly pull-side approach in BP and was able to lift the ball on occasion for distance.

Defensively: The third baseman demonstrated a relaxed tempo with a wider, tall base at the fielding window. Moderately soft glove hand with a funnel inwards, chopping the feet directionally before releasing out of a H ¾ slot (78 mph arm).

Pitching: RHP. Sideways starting position off the far left tip of the rubber; simple delivery and above-average pace, finding a compact stack before getting down the mound with a shorter arm-stroke. Grabbed T81 mph FB with a 29% zone rate, missing high at times, adding sweeping 68-70 mph CB across the plate. More confidence in a 69-71 mph SL that earned trust in go-to counts.

2/19/22

Physical: 5-foot-9, 195 pounds; Sturdy,  build. 7.76 runner in the 60.

Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; flat bat to start. Short take back with the hands with a toe-tap for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a finish around the back.  More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 90 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; walks into ready position while showing active feet. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Long arm swing from a standard 3/4 arm slot.

Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while showing some scap load; high 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 81 MPH, while sitting 79-80 MPH; commands both sides. CB: 66-67 MPH; early action. SL: 68-70 MPH; short action. CH: 71-74 MPH; runs.

2/14/21

Physically: 5’9 195lb 3B/RHP ran a 7.97 laser timed 60-yard dash. Thick bodied frame has some athleticism in it.

Offensively: Starts in a wide opened stance with his hands resting on his shoulder. As he strides forward his hands have a small load before making their move into the hitting zone. His barrel works slightly uphill, catching the ball out in front of his body. Seems to be a very repeatable swing.

Defensively: He uses long and slow strides as he approaches the ball. He allows his momentum to flow through the ball as he catches and transfers to his throwing hand. His arm works short and quick with a pitchers like motion.

Pitching: Slow, deliberate, and controlled windup. He stays tall on his back leg after striding out towards the plate. Mixes in a FB-CV-SL-CH out of a high ¾ arm slot.
