Comments

2/06/21

Physical: Durable, powerful 6-foot-1, 205-pound frame. 7.39 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Narrow, open stance with the hands showing wiggle for rhythm in the setup. Utilized a lift and replace stride in order to initiate a flat path that stays in the hitting zone for a long period of time. Solid feel for extension and notched a couple interesting advanced measurables; 75.7 mph bat speed / 18.6 G’s of RA both showed developing power which could arrive sooner rather than later. An impressive 50% line drive rate flashed above average bat to ball skills present, 92 mph bat exit velocity / 85 mph average per Trackman Baseball.

Defensively: Good receiver from both traditional and one knee setup, solid hip mobility throughout, quality straight line footwork with feel for the catch/throw phase allowing for an accurate 75 mph arm strength from the crouch. Athletic while blocking with fluidity in the lateral movements … The first baseman demonstrated adequate feel around the bag with momentum on the balls of his feet. Soft glove hand with rangy actions in either direction, used inside turn footwork on double plays. 75 mph INF velocity.

8/18/20

Physical: 6-foot-1, 190 pounds; strong, athletic frame. 7.52 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open stance with bent knees & low hands; short take back of the hands with a long even stride through contact. Average effort in lower half with long swing that stays in the zone. Works through the middle of the field; peak Trackman exit velocity of 91 MPH.
Defensively: Wide, staggered stance; accurate throws to 2nd base from his knees, smothered the ball well blocking. Clean transfer; short arm swing, standard 3/4 arm slot. 2.19-2.29 pop times. C - 69 MPH.

7/15/20

Physical: Strong and thickly built 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame with present strength throughout the movements. 7.40 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Bent, open stance with low hands below the shoulder in the setup. Utilized a repeatable lift and replace stride to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone from the shoulder. Turned the barrel early and often creating hand speed towards impact as well as natural lift to the pull-side during batting practice. Peppered the LCF gap with line drives and fly balls with carry and loved to get the arms extended on pitches out over the plate. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 90 mph according to Trackman Baseball and was able to adjust on offspeed pitches while sitting into a strong and powerful lower half.

Defensively: The primary catcher featured solid receiving abilities with a soft glove hand at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.14-2.20 with short and quick straight line footwork towards the target coupled with adequate feel for transfers out of a high ¾ slot with a moderate arm circle. Beat the ball to the spot while blocking, deadening it out over the plate. C - 72 mph

8/15/19

6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a heel-raise stride to begin. Displayed a line drive approach with minimal use of his lower half. Registered a bat exit velocity of 81 mph and ran a 7.78 60-yard dash. Showcased solid receiving skills with clean transfers on throws of 69 mph from the crouch leading to pop times of 2.19-2.28. Solid frame has room to add proportional strength that will benefit overall skill set moving forward.
