2/13/21

Physical: 6-foot-2, 215LBS. 7.46SEC 60-yard dash time. Kent State Commit.

Offensively: LHH. Generates power from the backside and stays in legs well. Weight in heal of rear foot to promote adjustability in the leg hang. There is some barrel wiggle in the load, that works its way into a bow & arrow position. Flat barrel path through the hitting zone, showed the ability to drive the baseball out front.

Defensively: Sturdy backstop and good target to throw to. Subtle pre-catch movement on catch & throw. Current 74MPH throwing velocity. Increase in throwing velo and maintenance of exchange time will drastically improve pop times of 2.02-2.09SEC. Transfer slightly below chest height creates smooth arm circle.

2/23/20

Kent State commit. 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a knee-to-knee stride. Stays in legs and creates consistent back spin. Registered a bat exit velocity of 89 mph and ran a 7.77 60-yard dash. Quiet receiver behind the dish showcased quick feet and a quick transition with pop times of 2.02-2.09 on throws of 74 mph.

6/12/19

Kent State commit and No. 11 ranked player in the state of Pennsylvania for his class. DH'd for all but one inning so limited viewing of him behind the dish but it was obvious watching him swing why he is so highly thought of as a prospect. Left-handed bat with an aggressive, athletic swing that runs into the barrel often. Already offers easy gap abilities and you could easily see him growing into occasional power as he fills out that athletic frame.

8/19/18

6-foot-2, 190-pound backstop handled pitchers well during game action showcasing a quick release on throws with a 2.13 in-game pop time on a caught stealing. The left-handed hitter went 0-for-4 with a walk and was hit by a pitch in game action. Although he did not have anything to show for it in the hit column, the sophomore had several quality at bats that resulted in barreled balls for outs.

6/12/18

6-foot-2, 190-pound left-handed hitter took an impressive round of batting practice and opened up game action with a triple driven to the wall in right-center field. The underclassman starts from a square stance and utilizes a short, lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Creates above average barrel whip as evidenced by his current 84 mph bat exit velocity, a number that will incorporate as he learns to clear his lower half more efficiently allowing his hand to work through the baseball. Current gap-to-gap power should continue to develop as he adds strength to his already advanced frame. Quiet receiver flashed quick feet, a clean transition and little wasted movement with pop times of 2.14-2.20 on throws of 70 mph from the crouch.
