Physical: Projectable, broad-shouldered 6-foot-1, 200lb frame. 7.55 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Crouched, slightly open stance, as the hands operated at a 45 above the shoulder. Utilized a simple lift and replace stride to initiate the swing through an uphill path into the hitting zone towards a two-handed finish. Worked behind the ball and into a firm front side at impact, producing hard pull-side contact to the LCF gap into the 91 mph exit velocity range. Got the barrel extended often for a 335 foot distance.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured a soft glove-hand out of a traditional stance. Showed off quick, replaceable feet on the catch-and-throw phase that gained ground to the target, popping 2.01-2.09 on the correct side of the bag (H ¾ slot, 74 mph arm).
6/15/21
Physical: Even framed, durable 6-foot-1, 195lb build with some strength carried in the actions. 7.71 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wide, balanced stance at shoulder width as the hands operated calmly to start. Utilized a quick toe-tap stride, matching pitch plane early through a flat path and initiating into the hitting zone with good bat to ball skills. Found lots of leverage/extension at the front of the plate allowing for juice to the pull-side, LCF gap during batting practice (56% line drive rate, 307 foot batted ball distance via Trackman). Able to hit for some AVG down the line and stayed inside the legs well throughout the swing; worked his way up to a T91 mph bat-exit velocity and projects as a solid middle of the order option at the next level.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured a traditional setup in the crouch featuring adequate receiving skills with a semi-soft glove hand at the catch. Pop times ranged from 1.96-2.02 with ability to absorb the ball to the throwing ear using clean exchanges and get rid with rhythm on the front side (T74 mph arm from H ¾, consistency). Then used a strong/durable frame to get around downward pitches on either corner, shielding them back over the plate during the blocking phase.
6/15/20
Physical: Proportional, 6-foot, 180-pound build with some physicality in his game. 7.45 runner in the 60.
Offensively: Starts with an upright stance and an even base with his hands just above his shoulders. He brings his hands back on load along with a lift and replace stride to initiate his swing. He has an engaged lower half and an uphill swing path that helps generate some hard contact in the air, up to 92 mph off the bat via Trackman.
Defensively: Solid receiving skills, light on his feet behind the plate and able to get out of the crouch and into throwing position quickly. 2.03-2.12 on his throw downs to 2B.
2/29/20
Physical: 6-foot-0, 180-pounds. Proportional build. 7.81 runner in the 60; 4.76 home-to-1B. Offensively: RHH. Upright and balanced stance, slightly bent knees, foot slide into simple load action, not a lot of hand movement Level swing path, gets barrel to the ball, consistent strong swing, aggressive lower half, quick through the zone. Power pull/middle, Solid contact opposite. 86 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: 2.18-2.24 pop times. Even setup; quick and clean transfer with short, across the chest arm swing. Throws showed carry from a high 3/4 arm slot. C - 71 MPH
