2/23/13 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect ran a 4.35 home-to-first and threw 79 mph across the diamond. Carter used an 83 mph bat exit velocity and good balance in his swing to create barrel whip. He squared the baseball repeatedly and used all fields with some power potential. Sat 79-81 out of a 3/4 arm slot with significant movement on his fastball and 73 mph changeup. Carter played basketball this winter and is likely to show a significant bump in velocity as the season progresses.

Comments
6/13/12 The Class of 2013 right handed pitcher showed the best movement on his pitches of any pitcher at the event. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Carter threw pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot allowing for late movement and downward action. Carter topped out at 82 mph and sat 78-79 mph during a bullpen that saw him throw strike after strike down in the zone. Carter was just as impressive at the plate. He used a strong lower half and solid approach at the plate to drive baseballs consistently to both gaps.
