Game Performance

Notes

Comments

2/12/23

Physical: Larger 6-foot-1, 200lb frame with compact athleticism on the bump.

Pitching: RHP. Works from the stretch-only off of the middle of the rubber. High leg lift that produces some momentum down the slope, able to get a strong front-side into the ground and rotate from the hips. Life to the FB up at 85-88, T89MPH out of a H ¾ slot. Mixed a sharp, two-plane 72-73MPH CB at 2051rpms and expanded the zone using mid-70’s SL with bite. Killed a quality 78-79MPH CH to arm-side; big fade.

6/12/22

Physical: Above-average feel in strong 6-foot-1, 192lb frame. 7.14 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Balanced, upright stance with some hinge in the upper half. Utilized a calm setup in the hands and controlled hip-coil in the leg-lift before unloading through a flat path into the hitting zone. Extremely connected at impact, allowing for loud impact to the pull-side of the field. Sprayed it around evenly where it was pitched, staying in the legs while hitting behind the front-side. Recorded a T101 mph bat-exit velocity and consistent line drives during his round.

Defensively: The backstop produced an advanced defensive session, getting the backside planted early and ball out for 1.88-1.97 pop times at 81 mph from the crouch. Repeated and was able to land throws to the arm-side. Tons of confidence on both sides of the ball.

Pitching: RHP. Started off the middle of the rubber with a compact delivery that can spin the ball. FB landed 85-87 mph with no issues attacking the zone. Mixed sharp 70-72 mph CB for strikeouts and different, manipulated 74-77 mph SL in any count. Added big fading 78-80 mph CH back the other way to lefties.

6/15/21

Physical: Strong/athletic 6-foot, 180lb frame with advanced feel for the game. 7.40 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Narrow, even start with a slight bend in the knees as the barrel rested on the shoulder. Utilized a leg lift stride, getting to the top with balance and minor hip coil as he worked connected/in-line towards the pitcher towards a wide, powerful base. Launched through a medium intent, flat path into the hitting zone allowing for a fun batting practice round posting a 56% line drive rate via Trackman Baseball. Added a 44% hard hit rate (batted balls over 90 mph) and a T94 mph bat-exit velocity pointing towards immediate doubles power at the plate. Stayed inside the legs working down the sequence correctly and was extremely efficient at generating weight shift into the front side. True middle of the order potential with two-way abilities flashing.

Defensively: The backstop featured a smooth, soft glove hand at the catch point when receiving. Pop times ranged from 1.96-2.04 using a wide base and clean exchange with some pre-catch rhythm to stay under the pitch in catch/throw phase (79 mph arm). Then worked hard on blocks, setting down angles out over the plate for recovery ability.

Pitching: RHP - Noticeable arm talent starting off the middle/right side of the rubber with quick pace down the slope. High, sweeping leg lift slightly above the waist, driving into footstrike with momentum and releasing on time from H ¾ into the zone. The FB ranged from 83-85, T87 mph with heavy movements out of the hand (1901rpms AVG, 14 inches AVG IVB). Mixed a harder 73-75 mph SL with lower spin traits but good, gradual bite across the plate.
