Comments
11/1/14 D'Amore is a solid defender across the board, showing good feet, hands, and range. He looks more than comfortable at third base after sliding over from shortstop between his freshman and sophomore seasons. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder lost the barrel at contact occasionally on this day, but he has a very simple approach, his head stays still, and he has the bat speed and physical strength to find a gap.
8/2/14 D'Amore showcased an 87 mph arm across the diamond and the ability to play through the baseball from 3B. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound junior flashed a 90 mph bat exit velocity during scout day activities and barreled several baseballs in game action during the course of the three day event. D'Amore has a short swing path and a strong lower half that creates barrel whip and gap power potential in his swing.
5/4/14 D'Amore is a solid defender who is showing improved range. He barreled up a mid-80s RHP for a 2-RBI 1B his third trip to the plate.
11/2/13 D'Amore is a 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitter with a strong frame and some pop in his bat. He hits from a slightly open stance and uses all fields well. D'Amore made consistent hard contact in his round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Defensively he showed an 84 mph arm across the infield with good carry to his throws. His feet work well and he showed the ability to make plays on the move. Although he played shortstop as a freshman in high school, D'Amore is most projectable at 3B.
8/25/13 D'Amore is a 6-foot, 185-pound righty that sat 80-82 in his one inning of work on the mound. He showed a quick arm and pounded the strike zone from a high 3/4 arm slot. D'Amore is a talented athlete that shows promise as a two-way prospect in this class. He showed well in all facets of the game, solidifying his spot as the No. 11 ranked prospect in the Class of 2016. The right handed hitter utilizes a square stance and has good rhythm to his swing. He barreled everything in batting practice and showcased the ability to use all fields. D'Amore also displayed athletic actions and the ability to make plays on the move at 3B with an 82 mph arm across the diamond.
