6/14/22

Physical: Proportional, athletic frame at 6-foot-1, 165lbs with RTF. 7.19 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Balanced, square stance, as the barrel starts pre-slotted, flat at the shoulder. Utilized a short leg-lift stride while holding onto the rear hip to create stretch into footstrike. Delivered a slight uphill, whippy path into the hitting zone, producing a lofty approach mostly (67% fly ball) during his round. Recorded an 88 mph bat-exit velocity and gets longer arms extended at the front of the plate (321 feet).

Defensively: The middle infielder featured simple, clean actions in the posture and hands, setting up properly at the fielding window. Loaded up on the throw from a lower H ¾ slot, working up to 82 mph across the dirt.

Pitching: RHP. Starts off the right tip of the mound; deceptive delivery, showing crossfire at times with a 75-77 mph FB (1754) to both sides. Added a sweeping 61-63 mph CB with occasional two-plane shape and quality 65-67 mph SL to round out the arsenal.

2/25/22

Physical: 6-foot-1, 160 pounds; Long, athletic build. 7.07 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Loads straight back with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a late one hand finish. More fly balls than line drives and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 83 MPH via Trackman. plus bat speed while getting on plane early and staying through the zone.

Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands are out in front with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot.  INF - 76 MPH.

Pitching: Uses a glove side setup working primarily from the stretch. Belt high leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a moderate stride while landing slightly closed. Long arm swing while showing some scap load; high 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 81 MPH, while sitting 78-81 MPH; life through the zone with ride. CB: 66-69 MPH; advanced movement with 11-5 shape showing depth.  CH: 74-76 MPH; fading action with sink.

7/28/21

Physical: Wiry, athletic, projectable 6-foot, 155lb frame. 7.15 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Wider, even stance with the barrel beginning upright using a high back-elbow. Utilized a short leg lift stride to initiate the bat-head through an on-plane, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Lots to like in the box with a competitive mindset, always on-time at the front of the plate with some whippy actions. Long, deep one-handed finish promoting some loft in the approach (44% line drive rate, 44% fly ball rate via Trackman). Recorded a T86 mph bat-exit velocity with doubles power on occasion (leverage).

Defensively: The shortstop showed off a “hop” in the prep step working with advanced range in either direction. Clean angles on his last couple steps, phasing properly with continued rhythm through the throw (H ¾ slot, game-like, accurate, 71 mph arm).

Pitching: RHP -The righty offered attacking pace from the stretch-only off the middle of the rubber. Longer arm circle that played loose into the zone from a H ¾ slot, moving athletically down the slope into footstrike. Pounded the zone with a consistent strike-throwing mentality, posing issues with a 75-77 mph FB (heavy) and tight 66-69 mph CB (swing/miss).

6/22/21

Physical: 5-foot-11, 155 pounds; Slender, wiry build. 7.47 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a compact swing path with a one-handed finish.  More groundballs than line drives and flyballs with a peak exit velocity of 84 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep hop while stays low while receiving. Hands are out in front while staying low during transfer. Moderate arm circle  from a standard 3/4 arm slot.   INF - 74 MPH.

Pitching: Grasso uses a center rubber setup working primarily from the stretch. Mid chest leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while stabbing downward, while working through a high 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 79 MPH, while sitting 77-79 MPH; arm side run. CB: 65-67 MPH; showed depth. SL: 68-69 MPH; lateral action.
