8/02/20

Physical: Solid and durable 6-foot, 190-pound frame with advanced strength throughout the lower half. 7.51 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Wide, balanced stance with a deliberate bend in the knees, the hands started low and outside the shoulder showing circular motion at the setup. Utilized a quick lift and replace stride to initiate a thunderous flat barrel path through the hitting zone while displaying lift after contact. Repeatedly got off high intent swings with a physical lower half leading the way, demonstrated sink into the legs with quality hip-shoulder separation in the box generating loud contact on pitches middle/in. Created easy backspin to the pull-side while putting on a show during batting practice / recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 96 mph according to Trackman Baseball / 340 foot maximum batted ball distance. Featured arguably the top performance in-game among hitters on Team PA notching four extra base hits and showed the ability to handle getting on time against high velocity with ease. Impressive all around offensive performance and should make him a can’t miss power bat for the middle of a collegiate lineup.

Defensively: The primary backstop featured a low setup with solid and much improved receiving abilities; a soft glove hand worked well to stick the low strike at the bottom of the zone, pop times ranged from 2.13-2.16 using powerful straight line footwork out of the crouch, quick high ¾ arm-slot with a moderate arm circle, adequate catch and throw skills with accuracy on the bag. Flashed above average blocking skills repeatedly deadening the ball out over the plate with downward chest angles, buried the glove hand in the dirt first / saved a multitude of free 90’s during game action. C - 78 mph

6/15/20

Physical: Displayed feel for an advanced 6-foot, 190-pound frame with noticeable physicality in the actions. 7.55 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Wide, balanced stance with the hands starting deep and low at the shoulder with rhythm. Utilized a lift-and-replace stride with stretch in the load to initiate his swing. The barrel worked through a violent, slightly uphill hitting window creating loud contact to the pull-side during a standout batting practice round; hit 4 balls over the left field fence. Noticeable strength in the lower half yielding powerful rotation through the middle of the field. Displayed a high level feel for the barrel while hitting into a stiff front side and registered a 96 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.

Defensively: The backstop is a quality receiver, beating the ball to the spot repeatedly with a soft glove hand at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 1.91-1.94, showcasing feel for powerful straight line footwork and quick transfers on accurate throws on the bag. Arm action was moderate on the backend and quick on the front side through a high ¾ slot. Moved well laterally during blocks using soft, downward chest angles to allow for recovery ability. C - 77 mph

3/01/20

6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and uses a short lift-and-replace stride to begin. Showcased a short swing path while staying behind the baseball creating consistent back spin in a very solid round of batting practice. Registered a bat exit velocity of 92 mph and ran a 7.46 60-yard dash. Showcased well above average actions defensively behind the plate with pop times of 2.00-2.06 on throws of 76 mph from the crouch. Solid frame shows proportional strength with room to continue developing.

2/29/20

Physical: 6-foot-0, 190-pounds. Physical, strong frame. 7.63 runner in the 60; 4.52 home-to-1B.
Offensively: RHH. Square balanced stance, short leg kick that begins simple load action, distributes weight well. I Strong quick hands through the zone, barrel to the ball, two handed finish. Power, solid contact across the field. 90 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: 2.04-2.10 pop times. Clean, efficient transfer from a compact setup as he gains ground to 2B. Achieves good backspin with a wrist snap throwing motion; stays online to the bag from a standard ¾ arm slot. C - 71 MPH

6/28/19

5-foot-11, 180-pound right-handed hitter has a knack for finding the barrel in key situations and appears to be an RBI machine. Showed present pop to the pull side with the ability to go deep in counts. Went 3-for-10 with a double and a pair of RBI on the weekend while barreling a number of balls for outs. Above average defender has advanced receiving and blocking skills. His footwork is very good and his arm strength will likely catch up to his mechanics moving forward to make him one of the top defenders at his position in this class.

3/02/19
