8/19/18 - 6-foot, 175-pound Shepherd University commit sat 82-84 from an over-the-top arm slot. His curveball with 12/6 shape is thrown with intent at 73-75 and will be an effective pitch for him at the next level. Lockett also showcased a changeup at 74-75 at near fastball arm speed.
1/28/18 - 6-foot, 170-pound primary pitcher sat 83-84 while topping at 86 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot. Two-seam fastball showed similar velocity with arm side run. Curveball showed tight 11/5 rotation with two-plane action at its best sitting 71-74. Changeup sat 73-74 at fastball arm speed and cutter at 76-77 displayed late cut. Delivery is balanced and repeatable with additional velocity likely as athletic frame continues to fill out. Right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased a feel for the barrel with the ability to use all fields with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Flashed 86 mph arm strength from the outfield while playing through the baseball routinely.
2/12/17 - 6-foot, 165-pound righty sat 78-80 from a high 3/4 arm slot. Starts with a side-rocker step and shows an up-tempo, repeatable delivery. Commanded a 11/5 breaking curveball with occasional two-plane action at 64-68 and showcased a 68-71 changeup at near fastball arm speed with some armside run.
2/12/17 - 6-foot, 165-pound primary pitcher. RIght-handed hitter whose body floats forward with stride, leading to pushing hands at ball with minimal backside incorporation. Posted a 79 mph exit velocity and would benefit from additional strength. Ran a 7.45 60-yard dash. Defensively, he logged 78 mph arm strength from a long arm action and would benefit from getting his hands behind the ball to field it, instead of working around the side of it.
6/25/15 - 5-foot-6, 140-pound frame. Pitched out a high three-quarter slot from an up-tempo delivery and was quick to the plate in the stretch. FB sat 72-74 and he located it to his gloveside well. Showed a good feel for both secondary pitches. Curveball was 63-65 with 11/5 action, while straight change-up was thrown with fastball armspeed at 65-67 with some sink.
6/24/15 - 5-foot-6, 140-pound right-handed hitter. Started from square stance and took quick stride to slightly closed with some dive toward home plate. Due to youth and lack of physicality, was a bit overmatched offensively in game action. In BP, swing path was fairly short and his hands worked. Ran a 7.77 60-yard dash and a 4.90 in-game home-to-1B time. Showcased 70-mph exit velocity and 71-mph arm strength. Would like to see him play lower to the ground and smooth out defensive actions to create more rhythm when fielding.
