January 29, 2018

A total of 42 prospects took the field during Day Two action yesterday in the 2018 Preseason All-State Showcase.
All players in attendance will be evaluated by position and by class in articles over the coming week. For now here are some quick highlights from the day.

Day Two highlights (1/28/18)
- Switch-hitting shortstop Cameron Barto (Lancaster Catholic), No. 70 in the PA Class of 2019, displayed a much improved stroke from the left side during an impressive round of batting practice with a bat exit velocity of 87 mph. Barto also showcased improved foot speed while running a 6.67 60-yard dash and fluid defensive actions with 81 mph arm strength across the diamond from multiple arm angles.
- Shortstop Cam Conley (Malvern Prep), No. 44 in the PA Class of 2020, continued to impress with athletic defensive actions and 84 mph arm strength across the diamond. The right-handed hitter showcased solid abilities at the plate and ran a 6.96 60-yard dash.
- Catcher Julian Bailey (Dallastown Area), No. 56 in the PA Class of 2019, stood out behind the dish. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound backstop showcased 81 mph arm strength from the crouch with event best pop times of 1.98-2.06.
- 6-foot, 195-pound infielder Peter Capobianco (Dallastown Area) showcased a physical right-handed swing with present power and the potential to be a run producer at the next level. Capobianco registered an 87 mph bat exit velocity and showcased a defensive skill set best suited for the hot corner.
- A pair of 2021 left-handed pitchers flashed signs of things to come with advanced mechanics and loose arms. Braedon Karpathios (Lancaster Catholic) and Carter Welch (Allentown Central Catholic) are both freshmen arms to watch this spring and over the course of their high school careers.
- A trio of uncommitted right-handed juniors also stood out on the mound with Tristin Lockett (Mifflin County - top 86 mph), Cameron Czerwinski (Red Lion Area - top 85 mph) and Zane Robbins (Millville - top 84 mph) all being arms to follow in this class over the next year.
Top performers in all measurable categories as well as complete results for all prospects in attendance over the course of the two days will be released tomorrow.
