2/14/16 Athletic 6-foot-5, 205-pounder with a loose, clean arm action who throws out of a three-quarter slot. Fastball at 81-84 had consistent, hard armside bore and serious life to it. Best secondary pitch was a fading mid-70s change-up for which he exhibited good feel and threw with fastball armspeed. Curveball at 71-73 is showing signs of progress, although, given his lower arm slot, a switch to a slider could be in the offing.
Good athlete, especially for his size, as he ran a 7.19 60-yard dash and posted a 91-mph exit velocity. Right-handed hitter starts from a wide, slightly open stance and incorporates front knee roll stride to square. Is very heavy into his front side with lots of forward hip float, which caused him to drag the barrel and steer the ball to the opposite field just to stay in the hitting zone long enough. Defensively, he exhibited good hands and didn't air out his arm in order to save it for the mound, but has recorded 83-mph positional velocity in the past.
11/7/15 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-handed hitter. Primarily known for his projection on the mound (he has shut down from pitching until the spring), Lozinak is a quality athlete (7.11 60-yard dash) who showed surprisingly good feet defensively for someone his size. Offensively, he generates some opposite field pop (89-mph exit velocity) from his physicality despite a hip float triggering his swing, getting him into his front side early, and limiting his incorporation of his lower half.
2/15/15 Lozinak has a very projectable 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame and a solid feel for four pitches. The sophomore sat 82-84 out of a 3/4 arm slot with a long, loose arm action that produces significant arm side run to his fastball. Lozinak displayed good tempo and balance to his delivery and gets over his front side well leading to good tilt to his deliveries. The righty mixed an 82 mph two-seam fastball, an above average 71 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation and a 75 mph changeup thrown at fastball arm speed with arm side run.
2/14/15 Lozinak is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-handed hitter that utilizes a heel raise stride from a square stance to initiate his swing. The sophomore showcased a short swing path and the ability to stay inside the baseball while repeatedly barreling the baseball to the opposite field. Lozinak's hands work well throughout his swing with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. The two-way prospect ran a 7.16 60-yard dash and showcased an accurate 79 mph arm across the diamond.
4/11/14 Lozinak has significant upside and a projectable 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame. The righty sat 78-80 for most of his seven innings of work touching 81 several times with some arm side run to his fastball. Lozinak also displayed a sweeping curveball that he threw at 66-68. The pitch is a work in progress and the young pitcher had difficulty controlling it for strikes at times. Lozinak is willing to throw any pitch in any count and works quickly. He gets more run on his fastball and 70 mph changeup out of the stretch, but loses velocity due to a crouched set position that does not allow him to fully engage his lanky frame.
