9/25/20

Physical: Featured long levers in an athletic 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame oozing projectability. 7.13 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Starts from a wide, open stance with the hands showing slight rhythm out in front of the shoulder as the barrel pointed upwards. Utilized a lift and replace stride with good direction while staying well into the backside upon footstrike, the hands initiated through a flat path with weight shift into a stiff front side, got upwards through extension creating natural lift towards both gaps. Was repeatedly on time at the front of the plate with ability to manipulate the bat head depending on the quadrant he’s pitched into, liked to get the hands out and leveraged at pull-side contact creating loud impact and an upwards of an 88 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball. Top batted ball distance of 328 feet with natural loft to the swing / 83% fly ball rate during his round.

Defensively: The primary backstop featured solid defensive abilities, soft glove hand while receiving at the catch point, pop times ranged from 2.08-2.16 out of a low setup with short and quick straight line footwork towards the target, accurate high ¾ slot with a quick arm through a medium circle. Moved quickly on either side of the plate burying the glove early and creating downward chest angles while blocking. C - 73 mph

7/15/20

Physical: Long and uber projectable 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame with a feel for his body / strength throughout. 7.03 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Begins with a wide, open stance as the hands start high next to the ear with slight rhythm. Utilized a lift and replace stride while holding coil into the backside on the forward move coupled with a hand load to the shoulder creating present stretch in the box upon footstrike. Launched an efficient, slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone with ability to pepper the LCF gap with loud contact during batting practice, was repeatedly on time with moderate weight shift at the front of the plate yielding high intent at the dish and above average hand speed. Long levers allowed for a top bat-exit velocity of 92 mph according to Trackman Baseball / max batted ball distance of 328 feet.

Defensively: The primary backstop showed off adequate receiving skills with a soft glove hand at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.19-2.24 from a medium-high setup in the crouch using quick straight line footwork while gaining short ground towards the target. Short, high ¾ slot with a quick arm circle from the crouch, average blocking skills on either side of the plate arriving with downward chest angles. C - 69 mph

7/08/20

Catcher with a projectable body frame. Has athleticism to work with from behind the plate. Could cut down on the number of steps he takes before throwing down to second. Has clean exchange to throw mechanics and clean arm action through a high ¾ slot. Pop times ranged from 2.06-2.19 and a velocity of 71 mph. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance using a toe tap to trigger timing and initiate his lower half striding back to even at foot strike. Swings with a level bat path through the zone. Showed the ability to hit the ball to all parts of the field during his round of BP while registering an exit velocity of 90 mph.

3/01/20

Featured a long and lean 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame with room to add strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, even stance utilizing a lift and replace stride to initiate a flat barrel path into the hitting zone. Showed off a strong top hand while hitting into a stiff front side, yielding a middle of the field approach during batting practice. Recorded an 80 mph bat-exit velocity and ran a 4.53 home-to-first. The primary backstop showed off average receiving skills with minimal hand movement at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.19-2.22 on accurate throws of 73 mph from the crouch out of a high ¾ arm-slot. Showcased comfortability while blocking, beating the ball to the spot and creating soft walls with downward chest angles on both sides of the plate.

1/20/19

6-foot 1, 165-pound right-handed hitter begins from a square stance utilizing a heel raise. Uses soft back-half, but makes up for it with a strong top-hand, registering an 82 mph bat-exit-velocity. Recorded a 4.64 home-to-first time. Showcased a strong glove-hand and adequate blocking ability behind the plate, with feel for his feet. Sackett did not throw at the event due to pre-existing arm soreness.

1/21/18

Offensively, initiates swing from open set up with short stride to neutral gaining little ground. Weight shift is passive compromising separation. Hip turn is aggressive and hands work short and direct to baseball. There is good balance and rhythm. Solid leverage is achieved and bat spends extended time in hitting zone. Ball was consistently squared in bp and 74 mph bat exit velocity was recorded.

Defensively, shows soft, confident glove hand in receiving and framing. Transfer has length while throwing motion is short.

On the mound working out of high 3/4 arm slot there is solid hip coil and back side load in balance point. Sackett shows long arm action with ability to consistently repeat his delivery. Stride foot lands close blocking hip rotation and resulting in first base fall. FB at 73 mph had consistent arm side run. CB showed 11-5 shape and at best moderate depth. CH at 65 mph was thrown with reasonable sell and arm side fade.
