From his first swing through his last Ostergard put bat to ball with a compact stroke that produced line drives to all fields. North Carolina has found plenty of success at shortstop from the portal recently, but Ostergard could stop that trend in a hurry. A high energy player, he’s also confident at the plate who can extend an at-bat.With quick hands, a short swing and good balance he roped a single and a double (103 mph EV) in his first two at-bats and finished 5-for-9 which led the Twins. It’s a low maintenance swing with solid bat speed and one that should play at any level. Defensively, Ostergard showed an above average arm with athletic actions. He also ran above average scoring from second base on a single and ran a 6.76 sixty.
