East Tennessee State recruit. Legitimate two-way prospect at the next level. 5-foot-10, 165-pound athlete. Started for the Tennessee Nationals and threw well. Pitched at 83-85 mph, topping at 86, with some late finish through the zone. Slider showed potential of being a legitimate swing/miss pitch; throws it aggressively at 75-77 with lateral sweep and depth. Threw strikes with both pitches and competes on the mound.
10/01/19
East Tennessee State commit. 5-foot-10, 150 pounds; strong, wiry build. Quick arm that came out of the bullpen in outing. Front side worked off axis upon release; high ¾ slot. Fastball showed late life and run at 84-85; worked outside corner, considerably, resulting in weak contact. Curveball had good depth and worked low in the zone at 72; 1/7 shape.
5-10, 165-pound lefty continued to tease his advanced 3-pitch mix. Medium, athletic frame w/ some well-proportioned present strength, some physical projection. Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ release from the third base side of the rubber. Got going a little too quickly in the early part of his pen, was off-timing and got better as the pen went along. Some head violence. Angle. FB shows occasional short arm-side run. Tight medium downer CB, potential swing and miss pitch. CH w/ arm-speed, fade and sink. Sprayed the zone on this day, tools to command. Is a pitcher whose stuff plays up with hitters in the box.
2/3/19 - 60: 7.40, OF Velo: 79, Exit Velo: 79
5-10, 165-pound OF, shows intriguing position player tools, but likely profiles best as a LHP. Medium, athletic frame w/ some well-proportioned present strength, some physical projection. Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, very slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into short leg kick and proper load. Bit of a hanging leg kick at times can create a little bit of length in his swing. Simple swing w/ still head, shows ability to find the barrel. LD’s to all fields when right. Projectable gap power type. Defensively, likely profiles in a corner w/ projectable above average arm strength in clean arm stroke.
10/14/18 - Max FB: 79, FB: 77-79, CB: 68-70, CH: 72-73 5-foot-10, 165-pound, LHP showed feel for 3 pitches, including an above average CH while striking out 3 and generating 5 swing and misses on 10 swings. Medium, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, some physical projection. Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ to H ¾ release from the third base side of the rubber. Repeats his delivery. Angle. FB shows short arm-side run, occasional short sink. CB is a slurve, ¾ tilt w/ proper shape, flashes above average depth. Showed ability to drop it in for called strikeouts on this day when hitters sat CH. CH w/ above average arm-speed, fade and sink. Swing and miss type pitch, 3 of 4 swing and misses on this day. Around the zone, projects to command 3-pitch mix, flashes ability to pitch w/ intent.
