6/14/16 - 60 Time: 7.22, Position Velocity:  OF-90, Exit Velocity: 82
6'0, 190-pound, RHH hits from a balanced, open, and athletic stance with fairly high hands that he drops down into a good slot at the time of his leg kick and stride.  Lower half works but sometimes pushes him forward and prevents him from getting his backside through the ball.  When right, Porter showed gap-to-gap pop and the ability to drive the ball, swing plane allows him to stay in the zone a long time and get the ball in the air.  Defensively, begins approach to the ball a little flat-footed but picks up the pace and plays through the ball well, could be more aggressive, long exchange and a short arm action from a high ¾ arm slot produced some very good arm strength from the outfield.

6/14/16 - Max FB: 87, FB: 85-87, 76-77 Slider
6'0, 190-pound, RHP uses a rhythmic motion with a fairly quick pace to get himself gathered for each delivery, high leg lift and quick stride out give him the ability to jump at hitters on a consistent basis, short and quick arm action comes out of a ¾-high ¾ slot and seems a little stiff, stays in line throughout his delivery and finishes very balanced and collected, worked quickly and kept himself in rhythm throughout his outing.  Fastball showed some heavy run and sick through the zone and was very difficult for hitters to square up, breaking ball was a hard slider with late and sharp 10/4 action that was thrown for strikes and can certainly be an out pitch when he wants it to be.  Both pitches were thrown for strikes and kept down in the zone.  Porter is athletic and has just enough funk to really get in a hitter’s head.

10/25/15 - The 6 foot 1, 195-pound prospect shows a good combination of speed and arm strength. Posted a 6.92 60 time and had an 86 mph position velocity from the outfield. Defensively Porter shows short arm action, some accuracy on throws, good arm strength, average hands, fluid footwork, clean exchange, and plays through the ball well. Offensively Porter shows fast bat speed from the right side and had an 81 mph exit velocity off the tee (84 at previous event). Porter hits from an open setup, has a short stride, uses his lower half, shows good overall balance, aggressive approach at the plate, level path, fluid rhythm, and shows a pull approach at the plate with flashes of power. Porter went 0 for 4 during game play.
On the mound, the RHP uses shorter arm action and works through a high-3/4 arm slot with normal effort in delivery, showed a good live fastball with very good arm-side run and sink at 80-81 mph topping at 82. He showed a hard curveball with a tight spin and 11/5 break at 72-74 mph. He also showed a change up with gradual downward movement to it sitting at 73 mph. Porter stayed low in the zone and showed good pitchability in working both sides of the plate regularly throughout his outing. He had two strikeouts and gave up one hit during game play.
1/17/15 - The 6 foot, 195-pound prospect significantly improved every measurable, showed good projectability and athleticism, had an exit velocity off the tee of 84 mph, ran a 4.40 home to first base time, had a short stride, average balance, good bat speed, power type hitter with an aggressive approach. Position velocity was 88 mph from the outfield, had average hands, long exchange, good arm strength, can improve on his footwork, a guy to keep a close eye on in the 2017 class.
11/1/14 - 6-foot, 195-pound prospect posted a 4.83 home to first time and 77 mph exit velocity off the tee. Strong body, short, high-3/4 arm action, plays thru ball, good arm velocity (84 mph), accurate throws with line carry to the bag, somewhat choppy outfield instincts.  Open hitting stance, good balance, level swing path, gap to gap approach that could develop into power production in the future. Has some upside that should improve as he continues to mature. Solid round of batting practice with several balls hit squarely. Was 0-for-4 in game play.  On the mound, uses short arm action out of a high 3/4 arm slot, fastball sat 78-80 mph touching 81mph once, good arm side run, curveball sat 69-71 mph and shows to be better secondary offering with late 11/5 movement, good arm action, occasionally gets around the ball, 73 mph changeup shows arm-side fade and should continue to develop, keeps ball down in zone, good balance, stays tall, repeatable mechanics, minimal effort, allowed three singles, struck out one in two innings of work.
