6/17/19

Pool has an easy sway behind the plate with soft hands and the ability to be a quality reciever, but he also gets rid of the ball extremely fast with pop times of 1.94-2.09 and a top velocity from the crouch of 78 mph. On the day he also ran a 7.32 60-yard dash, was recorded at 90 mph for exit velocity off the tee.

1.12.19
Pool is an athletic defender behind the plate, standing 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. The uncommitted junior has caught our eye on multiple occasions with his actions and soft hands behind the plate. Threw strikes to second base with pop times ranging from 2.07-2.19 and a top velocity from the crouch of 75 mph. Clean footwork with a quick exchange and easy arm swing. His lower half mobility allows him to receive at a high level along with soft hands and quiet sway. The right-handed hitter laced balls through the middle of the field with a line drive approach and a top exit velocity of 90 mph. Simple stride with loose hands, he glides forward to transfer his weight, and shows feel for the barrel.

11.04.18
Pool has really soft actions behind the plate with a quiet glove that sync up well on throws to second base. Clean arm swing from an over the top slot with carry at 74 mph and pop times ranging from 2.12-2.19 seconds. The right-handed hitter has twitch in his hands that produced hard contact through the middle of the field with line drive power during BP.

7.17.18
Pool has a projectable, athletic at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds with room to add strength as he continues to develop. The right-handed hitter has rhythm in his hands as he wags the barrel in front of his head as he pushes back then strides forward, gliding forward. Quickish hands throw the barrel through contact with line drive power and an exit velocity of 82 mph. Behind the plate, Pool throws with high end accuracy to second base, posting pop times of 2.0-2.11. Easy arm swing with a simple gather, his feet and arm are synced up well, and he has enough arm strength (78 mph) to make all the throws. With great hip mobility he is very comfortable receiving and blocking during games.

6.11.18
5-foot-11, 170-pound frame.  Pool swung the bat with intent to do damage from the right side, and flashed some bat speed through the zone; 81 mph exit velo off a tee. Low leg kick, maintains balance throughout the swing, and hit line drives to the gaps in batting practice. He has loose hands and wrists that whip the barrel through the zone on a slightly uphill plane.  From behind the plate, Pool showed the ability to catch and throw at a high level, posting pop times between 2.00-2.14 and every throw was on the bag with carry; 76 mph. Clean and easy arm stroke, quick hand out front on release. His footwork was short and quick, allowing him to get rid of the ball quickly and also provided good direction and drive to second base. He was soft with his body, and showed agility and mobility while blocking.  Pool ran a 7.68 laser-timed 60.
