Estimated 6-foot-2, 190-pound, athletic frame. The left-hander throws from a high ¾ slot with a long arm swing. His fastball was 87-89 mph, touching 90 mph. He threw a curveball at 72-75 mph with 11-5 shape. Threw it inside on righties a lot and also got some swing and miss away to lefties. He also a slider at 77-78 mph with sweeping action. At the plate, the left-handed hitter features a high leg lift with a long, athletic swing.
September 2018
Godwin sat 84-87 with his fastball in one of his first outings on the mound this fall. The Texas Tech commit has physically matured since we saw him last, but the natural arm speed is still there and he is likely to throw even harder by the time he gets to Tech next fall. Drop-and-drive delivery with an athletic finish and loose arm swing. Throws a 1/7 shaped curveball at 73-74.
10.8.16
6-foot, 165-pound strong frame. Projectable frame with broad shoulders and long arms. Fastball sits 81-82 mph with some two-seam, arm-side run. The changeup was his best offspeed pitch at 74 mph with good arm-side fade and depth. Throws a larger shape curveball that has good depth at 69-72 mph. The left-handed hitter was on the barrel during games with a big double off the wall to right-center field. He has a tall open stance with relaxed rhythm and very natural left handed swing with pop. His defensive actions at first base are advanced for his age showing solid footwork around the bag, plays low on ground balls and has a good quick exchange with clean arm stroke registering 82 mph. He registered a top velocity of 86 mph from the outfield workout. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash.
