10-14-2018: McLennan lefthander Grant Miller tossed 3.0 shutout innings and gave up just one hit with four strikeouts. Listed at 6-3, 225 pounds, the sophomore didn’t light up the radar gun, and didn’t show much besides a cutter. But the cutter was so good that he didn’t need much else; the pitch, which ranged from 80-84 MPH, generated uncomfortable swings, soft contact, swings and misses, and he threw it with some added deception. Miller recently committed to TCU. It looked like Miller took some off of the pitch, firing a few pitches in the 76-80 MPH range that had more slider shape than cutter; one of those pitches flashed plus with tight spin. (McComas)
