2/10/19

Preseason All-State I

Strong powerful frame at 6-foot-2, 214-pounds. Upright open stance with a pronounced leg kick landing slightly closed. Hands load back with some rhythm, bat is quick to the zone, and showed some uphill tilt to the swing path with pull-side tendency. Lower half finishes completely and exit velocity was 104 mph. Has some no doubt juice in the swing with strong hands and bat speed to match. Smooth on approach, presents glove out front, average arm circle, quick arm speed, and throws from a three-quarter arm slot. Infield velocity was 86 mph. Feet active on approach from the outfield with a quick exchange throwing from a three-quarter arm slot. Impressive arm strength with a 92 mph velocity from the outfield. Home-1st time was 4.16. Starts with a side step to a solid gathered balance point over the rubber. Backside leads the way down the mound landing on line. Shoulders and hips are slightly elevated and gets good usage out of the lower half. Average arm circle with quick arm speed from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was at 85-88 mph with carry through the zone. Curveball sat at 72-74 with tight and hard 11/5 shape. Had feel for the changeup at 74-78 mph and it had late arm side fade to it.

Quick whippy bat, very strong through contact with extension through the ball. Works uphill with a fly ball approach, power is evident with home run power to pull side and doubles power to all fields, exit velocity was 96. In the infield, quick clean feet, aggressively rounds the ball and fields with a wide base and above average hands. Works through the ball to a clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, shorter arm action with a lot of effort, infield velocity was 86. Ran 4.20 home to first.

5.22.17: Strong athletic frame. An imposing threat at the plate that looks like could grow into a power hitting prospect in the 2019 class. Hits from an open setup. Smooth load back and sinks into lower half. Strong hands with a level path and bat speed at plate. Gap-to-gap type hitter, drove a ball to straight away center over the head for a double. Has a good presence at the plate with good idea of the zone. Looks like will eventually be a corner infield prospect potentially stay at second.
