Eyes were certainly fixed on Meyer in the first game of the event, but RHP Dylan Questad (Waterford HS, WI) stole the show, striking out six over three perfect innings. The Arkansas recruit induced weak contact early with a heavy fastball that sat 94-96 mph, then started racking up swings and misses. The curveball was inconsistent, coming up and out of his hand and showing early break at times, but it did flash above average. He also mixed in a running changeup at 83-84.

We were able to get an up-to-date look at the top prospect in the state’s 2023 class at our PBR at The Rock Fall Championships: Dylan Questad. Questad got the nod for STiKS Academy’s 2023 squad and was sitting at an easy 91-93 mph with his fastball in the first inning. He’s improved his ability to spin a low-80s breaking ball since our last look and also mixed in a diving changeup at 82-83 mph, thrown at arm speed. Questad showed quality command of all three pitches early in this game and looked every bit the part of the high-end arm we’ve long known him to be.
3/17/21
Questad has an easy demeanor about his bullpens; he stays quiet and balanced throughout, making his 91 mph fastball look extremely comfortable. Questad showed a similar four-pitch mix that we’ve seen in the past, only this time his fastball sat at 91 mph for the duration of his ‘pen.

5-foot-11, 170 pounds; advanced strength and athleticism in build. Questad was the top overall prospect we saw Sunday in a great outing and look at one of the top-ranked prospects in the state’s 2023 class. Ranked nationally just outside the top-200, Questad wields some huge arm strength for a 5-foot-11, 170-pound arm. He’s a talented athlete who can do a little of everything, but he’s clearly been honing his work from the mound in recent months, as he’s gained a greater feel for pitching while still featuring big velocity. In the first, Questad came out sitting 84-86 mph, touching 87 a few times, and he was basically sitting 83-85 throughout his five dominant innings. He sharpened up his breaking ball, too, an 11/5 offering that flashed some late action. In warm-ups, his changeup looked effective with arm-side run/fade and could be a viable third pitch inside his arsenal in the long-term. The ease in which Questad is able to live in the mid-80s, in a five-inning stint, is one of the more noteworthy takeaways from his work on Sunday afternoon. He’s a high-follow prospect in the Midwest’s 2023 class, who’s only getting better.

Played with gradual depth, 12/6 shape at times. CH: 74-76 mph. Slight fading action, occasional decel. showed feel for pitch.

RHP Dylan Questad (Waterford, 2023; @RazorbackBSB commit) punched out seven of the 15 batters over a scoreless 4 IP, H, 2 BB.
Sat 91-93 mph. Two different breaking balls; CB flashed sharper action, 73-75. Also showed a swing/miss CH, 82, that looked like a weapon against LHHs. pic.twitter.com/vI3ebE8BZW
