Throughout the summer circuit and into the fall, Flugaur just flat-out dominated in front of our staff. During September’s PBR at The Rock Fall Championships, Flugaur kept up his stretch of dominance as he tallied seven strikeouts across his five dominant innings. As for his repertoire, Flugaur features a fastball with ride and life that make it a tough pitch to barrel up as he earns a ton of swings and misses on this pitch alone. He also has two different breaking balls, the first being a more traditional curveball with 11/5 break, and the second being a tightly spun slider. To round out his four-pitch arsenal, Flugaur also maintains arm speed on his changeup with late sink that only adds to his above-average repertoire. His pitchability and competitiveness round out one of the top uncommitted profiles in the state’s class.

Flugaur is a compact 5-foot-9, 180-pounds and got the nod for Hitters on Friday. Flugaur excelled, twirling a complete game gem and allowing just one run which was just enough as the offense could only muster two runs respectively. During his seven innings Flugaur tallied 10 strikeouts in part to his fastball that sat 82-85 mph which earned him a lot of swings and misses in the zone. He also spun in two different types of breaking balls, one a more traditional curveball that flashed some late depth and the other being more of a slider which he showed a lot more feel for and got a lot of swings and misses on it as well.

Working with tempo, polish, and ease on the mound, Flugaur’s breaking ball was amongst the best we saw all day and it’s starting to become a staple for the uncommitted right-hander’s arsenal. It’s a sharp swing-and-miss offering at 67-69 mph that checks the analytical boxes as well, spinning at a near 2,400 rpm average while averaging 17.3 inches of vertical break, too. He featured a more firm, laterally spinning slider, 71-74 mph, that averaged 18 inches of horizontal movement. His aptitude to spin both of these pitches enhances the effectiveness of Flugaur’s fastball, which is a lively 84-86 mph four-seamer that plays up in the zone with life. Finally, Flugaur threw a firm high-70s changeup at arm speed and matching slot to complete his four-pitch arsenal. He logged quality innings as a freshman for Franklin last spring and should slot right into the top of their rotation in his second season at the varsity level.

Athletic 5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect that's amongst the state's top pitchers. We saw him turn in a dominant outing against Whitefish Bay at our WIAA Invitational this spring and then again at the Badger State Battle, helping lead Hitters 2024 Navy to a tournament championship. Adept mover downhill with a loose, live arm that accelerates out front with intent. Fastball primarily works in the low-80s, touching 84 mph from a low average release height and easy vertical carry through the zone. Confidence, comfort, and advanced feel to spin a sharp mid-60s breaking ball off a tight 11/5 plane; current swing-and-miss offering that can be just that at the next level. Complete combination of advanced stuff and pitchability on the mound.

Listed at 5-foot-8, 145 pounds; thin, athletic build. Fluguar played up a grade level on Sunday against CBT Wolfpack, pitching against a talented lineup, and he fit right in. He has a live, loose arm that projects well as he continues to mature and develop; attacks hitters, competitive demeanor from the mound. Sat 76-78 mph in the first, up to 79, and most notably stayed in the 75-77 range throughout his entire start, which lasted five innings. Our staff has also seen him perform very well at shortstop and he’s a left-handed hitter with a feel for the strike zone, making him an early follow to remember inside the state’s ‘24 class.

Got the start on the mound for PTA 14U in their final game of the event. Flugaur has a clean, uninterrupted arm action, controlled the strike zone and sat at an easy 75-77 mph that he was able to hold throughout the outing; jumps through the zone. Plays shortstop when he’s not pitching; athletic actions, ranges well to both sides, above-average arm strength that carries with accuracy. Patient left-handed hitter with a loose bat and athletic hands that help create bat speed; quick first step out of the box. A follow 2024 two-way prospect moving forward.
