Lange is another name in this 2024 class that represented Team Wisconsin at the PBR Future Games last year, and he has seemed to be hard at work since. Standing at a projectable 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, Lange is an easy mover on the bump and utilized a loose, quick arm to create fastball velocities up to 87.6 mph with carry through the zone, roughly 15’ of IVB on average. He also spun in a sweeping type curveball with depth that flashed sharpness in the low-70s. He rounded out his three-pitch mix with a hard thrown changeup in the high-70s with fade and run action. In game Lange is one of the states fiercest competitors and after blowing up at the Future Games last summer, he seems all the much more of one of the state’s top pitching prospects going into his junior campaign.
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 6-3, 185-pounds.
Delivery: High, coiled balance point; closed down mound. Fluid mover, finishes athletically, square to target.
Arm Action: LH. Short draw, small circle to high 3/4 release from a short window. Loose, quick arm.
FB: T88, 86-87 mph. Carries through the zone with natural tail finish. T2097, 1980 average rpm.
CB: 70-72 mph. Sweeping type, depth; flashed sharp. T2096, 2005 average rpm.
CH: 76-78 mph. Firm, thrown at arm speed; fade/run action. T1758, 1628 average rpm.
Lange got the nod for Hitters in their first game of the weekend and was solid over his five innings of work. The southpaw, is built at a highly-projectable 6-foot-3 185-pounds and sat 82-84 T85 with his fastball and also spun in a sweeping type breaker that earned a handful of swings and misses. He finished with eight strikeouts over five innings against a formidable opponent.
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 6-3, 195-pounds.
Delivery: Athletic tall/fall delivery, works in-line to the plate with a square landing foot.
Arm Action: LH. Loose/quick arm that works from an over-the-top slot.
FB: T83, 81.0-82.7 mph. Rides through the plate, enters the zone at a tough angle. T2030, 1984 average rpm.
CB: 65.6-67.5 mph. Sharp 1/7 shape, feel for the bottom of the zone. T2046, 2013 average rpm.
CH: 72.6-74.4 mph. Smooth out of the hand, heavy fading action to the arm-side. T1732, 1617 average rpm.
The lanky 6-foot-3, 195-pound left-hander works with a simple tall/fall delivery that moves athletically downhill. Thanks to his over-the-top slot, his fastball enters the zone at a tough angle for hitters, topping out at 83 mph with an average of 15.6 inches of vertical break. He pairs it with a polished changeup out of a similar fastball window, coming out of the hand clean with heavy sinking action to his arm-side at 3-74 mph. Lange’s curveball also looks to be well-above-average, especially for his age, playing off a sharp 1/7 plane that he easily guides to the bottom of the zone at 68-70 mph.
Tall, lanky 6-foot-1, 195-pound high-waisted southpaw with some strength in the lower half. Competitive presence on the mound, fills up all quadrants of the zone with strikes. Fastball comes out of a deceptive slot, runs and sinks at 78-80 mph. Feel to spin high-60s curveball for strikes off a loose 1/7 plane, gradual action. Projectable southpaw that served as an anchor for Hitters Navy and consistently wins.
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 5-11, 185-pounds. Strong, well-proportioned frame. Thick lower half.
Delivery: Tempo'd tall/fall type delivery, controlled high leg kick to balance point, quality movement pattern downhill and rotates well onto lead leg at footstrike. Maintains direction to target, lands square and finishes through release.
Arm Action: LH. Long arm action with some poke on the backside, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T81, 79-80 mph. Four-seam type; straight action. Enters the zone with carry, averaged 18.2 inches of induced vertical break, per TrackMan. T2081, 2052 average rpm.
CB: 63-65 mph. Downer action with depth off a 1/7 plane when thrown out front; does back up on him at times. T1999, 1925 average rpm.
CH: 68-71 mph. Fastball arm speed, lowers slot some. Wrist works around to cut it. T1787, 1720 average rpm.
5-foot-11, 185 pounds; athletic, lean left/left prospect. Made two appearances over the weekend, one on Friday and another on Sunday, struck out seven total in his 3.2 innings of work, while walking seven. Sat 73-75 mph on Friday, topping 76, with a loose, athletic arm.
