7/10/24
C Turner Kuhnke (Hortonville, 2025; Wisconsin-Milwaukee commit) Currently ranked No. 36 in the state. Kuhnke showed quality actions throughout the weekend with a strong 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame. Defensively, the backstop worked hard behind the plate with a strong arm, limiting the run game with ease. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has a strong swing that works to stay inside the baseball with a flat path.
7/15/23

6-foot-2, 175-pound frame. Currently ranked No. 40 in Wisconsin’s 2025 class and No. 8 in the catcher rankings. Kuhnke was all over the barrel on Sunday, picking up a couple hits including a double and driving in a run. Kuhnke showed an advanced feel for the zone and the ability to spray the ball to any part of the field.

7/14/23

Currently slotted as a top-50 prospect in the state’s ‘25 class, Kuhnke continued to show well in front of our staff throughout the summer circuit. Kuhnke showed off his defensive prowess by throwing out multiple runners throughout the weekend. Also a fluid receiver that regularly steals strikes for his pitchers. At the plate, Kuhnke is an aggressive hitter with a simple swing that generates bat speed. Quality feel for the barrel and showed he can hit to all fields with an opposite-field double on Friday morning. A high-level uncommitted prospect to keep on your radar as a to-be junior.

6/30/23

The catcher was the difference-maker in a comeback victory for Stars Baseball, as the to-be junior finished with five of the team’s six RBIs in a 6-5 win. Kuhnke was 3-for-3 in this one, highlighted by a bases-clearing double in the fifth inning, which proved to be the game-winning hit. The righty stands at a solid 6-foot-2, 175-pounds, and used his present strength to consistently drive the baseball. Kuhnke emerged as the backstop for Hortonville this past spring, who made it all the way to the Division 1 State Championship game a couple of weeks ago.

6/29/23

Athletic, filled-in frame behind the plate. Quick hands and advanced bat speed. Kuhnke is able to back spin the baseball and has a short swing that stays in the zone for a while. A definite prospect to keep and eye on.

3/18/23

Kuhnke stands at a solid 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame, with more room to fill out as he progresses through his prep career. Offensively, Kuhnke fills the box with a wide base setup, complemented with a powerful swing. Maxing out in the upper 90s in exit velocities, Kuhnke’s fast hands and his ability to get through the baseball allowed him to showcase his power and barrel awareness at the plate. That same strength showed behind the dish as well, as Kuhnke impressed with a pop time range of 1.95-2.07 seconds. His quickness and athleticism allowed him to consistently put the ball on the base on his throws to second base. Kuhnke established himself as a name-to-know inside the states ‘25 class.
