Top Profiles of 2020: No. 10 Tucker Stockman
December 24, 2020
We continue our countdown of the Top Profiles of 2020 with '22 C/RHP Tucker Stockman (Athens HS) who comes in at No. 10. Stockman is a two-time member of Team Alabama at the PBR Future Games.
Standing at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, Stockman obviously has plenty of physicality to his game. He shows some present power in the box from the right side with a pull-to-middle side approach. His BP rounds continue to be very impressive at prior events. At the PBR Future Games this summer, he posted a 95.94 mph EV and a max distance at 350 ft. during his BP round on the Trackman. On the mound, he has really come on in terms of velocity over the past year. He worked consistently 86-89 mph while showing feel for a slider, cutter, and changeup our of a quick, 3/4 arm slot. He committed to Southern Miss shortly after the event.

Bat speed was quick, and used uphill swing plane. In his round he found lots of barrels with tons of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. While catching, recorded pop times of 2.00- 2.07, throw downs to second topped out at 75 mph; showed a natural exchange, quick feet and sure hands. Showcased some flexibility. Had consistent accuracy. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.47.
Physical ‘22 catcher that has big time projectability. Started with a slightly open stance and did a nice job of getting his weight back to begin the swing. Has some tilt in the swing and some juice off of the barrel to all fields. Solid lower half and finishes high with the barrel. Solid setup behind the plate and nice natural reactions. The flexibility in the hips is there and he showed a nice transfer. Did a nice job on balls in the dirt and was quick to recover. Physical ‘22 to follow.
